What will Jake have to do...

Oh I agree I think they are playing hard also (MOST of them). This reminds me of 2006 a bit so far. EXECUTION is a big issue on both sides, just like it was then. To say that has nothing to do with coaching would be wrong, to say it's all Fox etc is probably also wrong. People want to make things too black and white sometimes.

Exactly. In order to succeed, everything needs to click. Fox has said that himself when he says we need to play a perfect game or need to execute. Problem is that we have put together one good half of defense and perhaps the same on offense in three games. The margin for failure is much larger than the one for success. We have to string together a few games where we play well, not just a series or 2. The players and the coaches all need to do everything they can to be prepared. And to be honest the players are not where they need to be. I don't have a clue why not- coaches, players, skill, days off, etc. We have covered them all I am as frustrated about things as the next guy or gal.

I do believe the team is doing what they know how to do to correct it. Bottom line is that results are all that counts. I want to see some results at home against the Skins which includes both offense and defense being productive.

Thoughts?

I didn't mean this to get in such an out of hand debate. But just like you said it's results that matter, and if Jake come out and tosses another 1 TD 2 INT and fumble game, would you agree with me that he is not getting the results that the organization requires him to get. You can't win games with turnovers, and if you have a QB that makes TO's, your not gonna win.

I in no way hate Jake or wish him to fail, however, the numbers don't lie as someone pointed out, and to date his numbers are 2 TD 7 INT and 2 Fumbles...

I can understand why people want him out..

My $.02

I understand it as well. He isnt exactly on my Christmas list at this point either. I just think he is symbolic of the team as a whole, flashes of good play with stretches of poor execution. Worse, the defense and offense can't seem to both do well at the same time and instead feed negatively off each other.

I think that I reacti to the simplistic notion that he is the biggest problem or that replacing him with Feeley or Moore will be an upgrade of any sorts. If everyone on the offense were playing well and doing their job then jake's job would be more manageable. And likewise if he were Peyton Manning, he would make plays to score points. But he is struggling on a team that is struggling .And as fans we all pick easy targets and scapegoats to blame for the problem. Then we take it out on each other. Losing wears on everyone, and we all express it at times, for me late at night, appparently.

Well summed up. He is typically a slow starter every year playing wise and that is magnified because the team as a whole isn't playing well (and like you pointed out, not all at once are they playing well when they do). Plus his first game was really bad.

From what I see, the guys are flying around and competing like always. The problem seems to be they are out of position most of the time and not making plays. With all the fist pounding I saw at Dallas they surely seem angry and frustrated which is very different from the apathy and lack of emotion we would see if they were not interested in competing or if Fox had lost the locker room. I think Lewis is right on in his analysis of what is wrong. I saw it myself and commented about the same thing a few days ago.

If we can continue to play on defense the way we did in the Dallas game, we will win some big games. From the stat book, it didn't appear we played well yardage-wise, but the offense didnt help with four consecutive three-and-outs to open the second half. It would have been nice to get turnovers, but the intensity and the new look blitzing was also there, especially in the first half which has been our best half of the season.

I agree the defense played well (well enough anyway) especially in the first half but our offense fell completely flat as a result of our inept OC.

If our OC can get his head out of his ass and the defense can play at least as well as they did in the first half of the Dallas game for the rest of the season we could win any game on the schedule.

Agree. Nice to see you aren't blinded by all the negativity. A rarity these days.

Yea just take a couple days from the huddle and keep everything in perspective: NFL is entertainment from the dealings of everyday life, when this entertainment is not as good as anticipated, it still is not more important than what I have going on in my life. So if my love right now isnt help relieve me, then I wont spend as much time dwelling on it.

I am sorely disappointed at the start but there is a reason the thousands of us are not working in the NFL and there is some reason why the people that are, so I am not gonna sit on here and act like I know all the solutions, again just try to take it for what it is: entertainment...out of my control. I can only invest so much into that.
