What will Jake have to do...

He is the definition of a homer. One that can not see the many faults of the QB and HC he constantly defends. Bottom line is we are 0-3 we almost assuredly will not make the playoffs. Jake is not getting it done. He is constantly turning the ball over (I don't care whos fault it is). We have a team that cant score points or stop the opposing team from scoring. The absolute garbage we have put up with this season is too much.

Another hater heard from. It is obvious that Jake has had a poor start similar to the rest of the team. No one has said he didn't suck against the Eagles. But his rating in the last 2 games has been 82 and 70 which while not good is certainly not bad considering that he has gotten very little help. Certainly not worthy of the constant negative criticsm that has been heaped on him. That is not a homer opinion but based on the numbers. If you don't see that then any further discussion is useless.

I think it's fairly obvious at this point that the captain is going down with his ship. John Fox and Marty Hurney are both married to Jake Delhomme after that ridiculous extension he signed this offseason and their confidence has blinded them into believing that Jake was ever anything other than an above average stop gap quarterback with an elite WR to bail him out.

Jake should know all about backing the wrong horse, and John Fox and company certainly have done that.

In typical John Fox conservative fashion, we will be mathematically eliminated before any changes are made at quarterback.

John Fox knows that another ugly loss at home with mass ineptitude on the offensive side of the ball means he's out the door. At some point that must be recognized. He has his guy, and has since 2003, and it's not going to change. His rigidity to change quarterbacks is a symptom of the bigger problem... which is his rigidity to change at all. No matter what personnel we've had, the game plan has never changed. Ever.

Yeah he didn't bench Carr when he played poorly at home with Moore who was an untested rookie as soon as he could possibly get him 2 weeks work with the first string offense. OH wait...........................

The old since 2003 complaint makes no sense. Until the last 4 games, there has been no reason to change anything. And I believe that if Jake has another game like the Eagles he will pull him again just like he did in that game. Which directly refutes your comment that he doesn't pull the quarterback.:out:

For the life of me, I can't comprehend why Fox is continuing this passing attack in the face of being able to control the game by running the game with our studs in the backfield.

It pisses me off the more i think about it.

Jake should only, ONLY only, be passing when the run has become our focus and a PA pass will work.

More than Jakes, this is Fox' fault.

Seriously?? Even a fifth grade footbal player knows that you have to have a balanced attack to succeed. Sometimes the pass is needed to set up the run sometimes it is the other way around. Very few teams have had success with a one dimensional offense.

Really 55? A 5th grader? I got your 5th grader comment right here. Just between my dick and my nuts you jerk ass.

Did I say we should be one dimensional? No

Did I say the pass isn't needed to set up the run? No

Let me slow it down and type slower for you.....If you begin the game with running the ball over and over and over and over and over, then they stack the box.....once they stack the box.....you pass it.....

Therefore, you are using the run to set up the pass.

Not actually abandoning the run in favor of the pass which seems to be our current MO. Damn girl, pay attention.

With comments like that it is aparent I overestimated your ability. You sound more like a third grader.

Let me enlighten you. We go into each play with run and pass options, we survey the defense and call a play accordingly. When they come out stacking the box we throw and when they don't we run. We even do different things based on down and distance. That is why a comment like we should run all the time borders on ignorant and I responded.

Spare me the juvenile attacks and pretense of needing to explain anything to me..

Spare you the juvenile attacks? When you began with comparing me a 5th grader?

I am quickly seeing why you don't have any friends on the site.

End of discussion.

Argue with someone else.

Sorry if I don't suffer fools easily. Come back when you have something to actually contribute to the conversation.

The old internet tough guy routine? How cute.

I'm shaking in my boots. All that talk about me having nothing to contribute and not knowing what I am talking about is a design by you to elevate your own inflated ego by not just disagreeing with another but actually putting them down. It's actually the hardest kind of character flaw that one can change.

Anyway, I said I wasn't responding to anymore of your posts and I wish I hadn't this one. But don't think you got me to run and scurry. You'll see me in plenty of other threads. You don't run the show around here (yet deep inside, you'd love to be in charge of anything) and you're certainly not a poster to envy. Even I can already see that after a week of membership.

So you continue your security guard at Taco Bell at 4am mentality and I'll enjoy myself on the site.

Later girl. :dita:

Jake Delhomme has been our starting quarterback since Week 2 in 2003. Anybody else that came in or out was just keeping his seat warm. Even while Jake was injured he was still our starting quarterback. The point about Carr and Moore is moot considering that even in the face of massive struggle, it takes Jake about 4 turnovers to be removed from a game. What John Fox did while Jake Delhomme was injured was scramble to find a replacement because he hadn't adequately prepared for Jake ever having to leave the game. His backups were unprepared, untested, and quite simply an afterthought. Your point really proves mine more than it proves your own. Fox was so intent on Delhomme being our quarterback that he hadn't ever seriously considered grooming a future quarterback to follow him.

We are potentially the only team in the league that has 3 undrafted quarterbacks on its roster. Delhomme, Moore, and Cantwell. Meanwhile, we fill the gaps in between with washed up borderline NFL talent like Feeley and McCown. The quarterback position, as long as Jake Delhomme has been our starter, has NEVER been a consideration. That is why his injury and subsequent recovery was so hard for this organization to recover from.

Additionally, the situation with DeAngelo and Foster. Foster was getting like 3.5 yards per carry and DeAngelo was getting 5.0 and still week after week they kept getting the same amount of carries with it being in favor of Foster week after week. It never changed.

From adjustments at halftime, to adjustments from week to week, to season to season..... there is no adjustment. Take last week for example. The team in the first half was a totally different team than the team in the second half. No adjustments made at halftime to counter adjust against what the Cowboys were going to do. That's just flat out being out coached. The Cowboys went into the room and discussed what they could do to improve their situation and it worked. We, apparently, just did nothing and it manifested on the field of play.

Fox has lost the room. Jake has lost the team. Peppers has gained a hell of a lot of money he hasn't earned. The team, as of October 3rd, is totally in disarray.

So now we wait. We wait to see if Richardson sees what everybody else with a set of working eyes has seen for the last three weeks. That John Fox is stuck in an ideology that worked for him with a totally different team. He's stuck with a quarterback that is a shell of his former self that isn't even an adequate NFL quarterback anymore. He has a franchise tagged defensive lineman that couldn't care less what happens on the field as long as he doesn't have to try, and he has a whole slew of problems in the coaching staff with people all over the map in regards to what kind of style we're supposed to employ. Jeff Davidson isn't qualified or just plain sucks at calling offensive plays. Ron Meeks' defense has looked the exact opposite of what he was supposed to emphasize.

It's just ..... sad at this point. I am beyond the point of being angry to the point of really feeling sorry for Jake and Fox because they obviously have no idea how to fix what they're doing and it will probably almost be a relief for them both when they no longer have to worry about it. I think, at this point, that neither the player nor coach are able to fix the problem. This is the point where ownership must step forward and take the responsibility away from them.

Obviously you must be in the lockerroom and on the practice field and on the sidelines with the team. Would the team fire you if you told us your position with them? Becuase having that type of access is the only way you could state this factually the way you did.

From what I see, the guys are flying around and competing like always. The problem seems to be they are out of position most of the time and not making plays. With all the fist pounding I saw at Dallas they surely seem angry and frustrated which is very different from the apathy and lack of emotion we would see if they were not interested in competing or if Fox had lost the locker room. I think Lewis is right on in his analysis of what is wrong. I saw it myself and commented about the same thing a few days ago.
