I generally don't complain about the timeline stuff, as I don't think it detracts from the story.  But while tonight's episode was great, that was one fast Raven that went to Dragonstone.  Fedex should hire it.  Or they were on that rock a very lone time.

I took it to be the latter.  I figured that Thoros dying slowly of his wounds was a way to show the passage of time.  I am not sure how long it would take for the raven to get there/the ice to freeze over though so who knows.

I did think that, similar to both Jamie and Bronn surviving the previous battle, someone beyond Thoros needed to die.  It was obviously never going to be Jon.  Beric, like Jon, is still needed, and killing Gendry one episode after he returned would have been stupid.  One of the other three should have died.

That Bran warged into to try to put a stop to it and was trapped there when they killed him and became the Night King.

I read that theory pretty wild. I do believe Bran built the wall and caused Aegon to go mad but I'm not sold on him being the NK just yet although it would make sense.

I wasn't in town until Friday evening and was tied up all day Saturday and Sunday, so I didn't get to catch the episode until a few minutes after the live airing started.

Again, the pacing is light speed.

I expected a little more battle stuff based on the spoilers, but I think the polar bear and ice spear scenes especially delivered. That raining blood was awesome, and the whole crashing into/dragging out of ice was well done.

I think the show writers rely a little to much on deus ex machina when it comes to stuff like Jon being saved by Benjen against all odds.

Also, Dany should have just burned the poo out of the WW and TNK, but I guess she didn't know (and they have to stretch this conflict out)...

Loved the dialogue spots, especially the Hound/Tormund...

Bummed that there's only one episode left this season. There is still some good stuff supposedly happening next week, though, so hopefully it doesn't disappoint.

A lot of little nit picky things with this episode:

Where did the wights get 4 huge chains to drag the dragon out of the lake?

Gendry running back, sending a raven and Dany flying up there all while the magnificent 7 were surrounded?

A lot of Red Shirts died while no one important died. More than I thought they brought with them...to die.

The plan was dumb and always was.

Arya is suddenly a complete douchebag. More on that.

Where was the third dragon in all of this?

I'm assuming Dany has some sort of magic while riding dragons to protect her from weather/wind but does that apply to the rest of the gang in the back of the bus?

OK so I really think Arya is deliberately being a jerk to force Littlefinger to reveal his plan to turn the sisters against each other, which will allow Arya to kill him and Sansa will approve when his scheming is revealed. Otherwise, she is suddenly dumb and emotional and being a jerk for no reason. Everything up until this point has shown us that she should be smarter than that. I mean that letter from Sansa was read aloud to several people and the lords of the north are very familiar with the concept of children being used as hostages by controlling families. Why would revealing that letter be of any threat whatsoever? It isn't. So Arya is hopefully just counter scheming Littlefinger because she shouldn't be that dumb.

Don't get me wrong, I liked the episode. I wasn't surprised by the ice dragon but it was cool nonetheless. I thought the dialogue north of the wall was excellent and it seems clear that Dany is VERY hot for John. Very. So this coming week we have the JAX game (which I will be at), Mayweather v McGregor and the final episode. A hell of a week coming. :)
