NFL Eliminates 75-Man Roster Cuts

I'm curious to why people don't like the inactive list?  Also why do people think there is an inactive list?

I thought the inactive list was to balance out teams in case one team has a bunch of injuries and the other doesnt? That would keep one team from having 53 players to choose from while the other has fewer healthy players

That cut day would be brutal, plus it hurts the fringe bubble guys.. So this time they get cut ,they wouldnt have a chance during the current season to make a roster. Well as stated earlier before, if you cant make the 75, its very slim to make the 53 on another team.

What even is the point of having so many inactives? Those extra bodies would really help for smart teams who use every player. Prolong players careers. Grow more stars, chances for players to make a name for them selves.

It makes a lot of sense actually. Without it a team with several injuries is facing a major uphill battle in terms of depth when facing a healthy team.

The only downside I see to this new rule is some teams would release a guy in time for another team to sign him for the final preseason game.  Especially those that have been around for a couple years.

Overall I like the new rule.  Game 4 of the preseason should be for those that want to make the team and gives coaches one last look at those players ranked 50-90

The major difference with this is a lot of guys that today are "first cut down"-guys now will be "I was just the final cut away"-guys and ending up pursuing a football career long after it was already over.

This needed to change long ago. Definitely will help scouting the bubble players.

Noticing some Byrd posts and keep wondering why he is such a fan favorite.  He hasn't done anything and did very little at SC.   Don't get it.
