Really nice write up!

Really looking forward to watching Peppers on the field this fall.  Expecting great things.

No time for my own research this week, but this got me wondering what the sack record is for players of his age or older.  Would be fun to look at.  Maybe next week when I'm back in the States to begin my summer leave I can dig something up if someone hasn't already found the info.

James Harrison had 5 each year at 37 and 38.

Reggie White had 5.5 for the Panthers at age 38. 16 at 37.

Junior Seau had 3.5 at 38, and 1 at 37.

Kevin Greene had 12 in his last season at 37.

Chris Doleman had 15 at 37. 8 at 38.

Jason Taylor had 7 at 37.

Bruce Smith had 10 at 37 and 5 at 38. He also had 9 at 39 and 5 at 40, lol.

Rickey Jackson had 9.5 at 37.

Trace Armstrong had 4 and 3 at 37 and 38.

...and Steve McMichael had 2.5 at 37.

Man, wish I thought up to bring up this info. That's really eye opening!

@KB_fan I definitely would LOVE to see one of your analysis on this!

Not sure there's too much to analyze.  Bronn's data definitely shows that there are players making a big impact on D into their late 30s.  I guess one could look at the average # sacks by age of player, and how many DEs of this age have played in recent years, and their average production.  But not sure what the point would be.  Peppers is a Hall of Fame talent and has already proven that he's beyond "average" so, the analysis might be pretty irrelevant in terms of predicting his upcoming production.

But if you have a specific suggestion for how to dice & slice and present data on production at DE past a certain age, I'd be game to try and give something a go.  I should have some chunks of free time during my upcoming visit to the States.

Awesome post.

I say Peppers, Addison & Johnson have a great year all competing with each other.

This is gonna be fun. Can't forget about Hall too and how much of an advantage he has in his development with these studs around him.

Haha fair point. Issue with me is that I write and write without realizing how repetitive I sound.

I'll work on that. Thanks for the suggestion!

And Mike Adams is certainly part of my plans. Early thoughts:

Pros:

-Leader: makes sure everyone is in position from few clips I'm seeing.

-Coverage: Knows where he should be and makes sure he's on his assignment.

-Ballhawk: He's got a knack of being where he needs to be to make plays, whether through interceptions or forcing fumbles

Cons:

-Run support: He's alright, but he's sluggish sometimes and does need work on pursuit angles. Can let runningbacks beat him when taking bad angles.

I'll probably expound more on it later. Debating on whether I should make another narrative style like this post or breakdown style like with draft prospects I've done.

Can we get this Mike Adams write-up in second person?
