Ah yes, tensile modals, I hate those.  Bad, very bad.  Saca should have seen this from a mile away...like me and you.

I'll be honest. When it comes to tenses, I have had many a English teachers hound on me for that.

Probably the reason why I don't have a career in writing today to be honest.

If it's not statistics or quantitative analysis, I have no clue.  I try to write good but....

Saca...don't sweat it, you and PhillyB are great writers.  Few, very few would notice any of the minutia that you two are discussing.  Just keep it coming.  You got the gift of telling a story up in the 99th percentile of the California Achievement Test, like maybe 5 others on here.  I am only here because I love the Panthers and I attempt to provide a little comic relief.

Is there also an incentive in there for making Matt Ryan soil himself?

Section F-7 of the contract: "The Brown-Note Incentive" - For every sack on Matty Melt that results in human excrement jettisoned from his anus, results in a $50,000 bonus and many congratulatory ass slaps with the obligatory "Good Game" accompanying them.

As impressive as those clips were, there is another one where he dropped into coverage, got an INT and took it to the house like a DB. I don't know if it's from last year or the year before, but the fact that he can still run like this is just unbelievable. If he is able, then I see no reason for Peppers not to be starting this season. This will probably be his last season anyway, so why not leave it all on the field?

Its cool to have JP back. Alot of broken hearts around here when he left.

With that said, despite all that he did with us, and since then...im not riding the train that he will come in here and tear it up! He will get his for sure. But lets keep in mind he is coming home more or less to retire...to coast and enjoy 1-2 more years of paychecks to settle into life outside of the game. The man may be a physically gifted GOD, but that only means anything if he is in the mindset in this point in his career to play ball to the wall! He wasnt doing that way back then ( everyone poo on him for taking plays off)....and now at his age, can we expect any less? I am thinking this was just a easy gig back home for him where he can ride it easy.

Hoping I am wrong...but i wont be on his train until I see him on the field.

good stuff, Saca...

4/11 of the top career sack guys all time have suited up for the Panthers.

If Pep can get 7.5 this year, the Panthers will have suited up numbers 2, 3, and 4 on that list, and Pep would be the one who had the majority of his sacks with the Panthers.

Pretty awesome if you think about it...

Really nice write up!

Really looking forward to watching Peppers on the field this fall.  Expecting great things.

No time for my own research this week, but this got me wondering what the sack record is for players of his age or older.  Would be fun to look at.  Maybe next week when I'm back in the States to begin my summer leave I can dig something up if someone hasn't already found the info.
