First of all you're making is way too complicated. For the love of God people fasting is dumb and unhealthy. It's a cheap way, or vanity as Zod says, way to loose weight but has no other benefits other than looks.

Good lord. Don't worry about how you look, learn to NOURISH your body properly with FOOD. Pizza, burgers, ice cream is not food...these are STIMULI. They feed appetite, not your body.

You crave it because our hunter gather heritage makes our bodies crave things like meat, carbs and sugar because back in the day these things were hard to find...and good to eat once found. Our bodies have not caught up to the AVAILABILITY of things we have today, and how easy it is to obtain then. We no longer hunt or farm or search for them that take days and a ton of energy.

You people are so focused on how you look you starve yourselves because you have no self control over eating stimuli yet you're only hurting your body and not creating a long term solution.

Eat healthy portions of protein, carbs and healthy fat throughout the day. Make sure you're getting your body's minimum of these which is based of your activity. Drink water and excersise. Stay away from stimuli. That's all! How hard is that? Your body will look good AND you'll feel good.

The lack of self control of you guys, to the point you have to stop eating altogether, is terribly frightening.

Fasting isn't dangerous at all and to say otherwise shows an astounding ignorance. It has many more benefits than just vanity. Because of the sheer stupidity of those points I didn't read any further.

I've lost over 30 pounds so far this year. Calculated my calorie and macro goals and then plan out my meals ahead of time to make sure I hit them. Nothing too crazy, good mix of lean protein, healthy fats and complex carbs.

Congrats, I look at macros and don't care about anything else. I generally do 80-15-5.

Unless you look at the many studies that show otherwise. Not only that, but what good is a diet you can't stick with? Wonder why there hasn't been a Biggest Loser reunion show...

Calorie restriction also slows down your metabolism. Again, it's been proven.

......... and there  are big footed critters living in the American northwest, cars powered by water that the big 3 automakers are keeping secret,  and I have a bridge I can sell you cheaply !

You're right, the doctors who run obesity clinics and reverse diseases are just faking it until they make it. The decades of success is all a fluke. You're afraid to see the truth, I get it.

Unfortunately, I have food attachments. Love pizza, burgers, hot dogs, Mexican food, chicken. Just meat in general. So, what are some tips for going as healthy as possible in every day eating?

I think moderation is key. Allow yourself the burger or the pizza but don't make it an every-day thing.
Also consider the source ie the burger you make it home is 100x better than the mcdouble at mcdonalds.

Focus on eating real foods that are full of vitamins and minerals. I've posted before but I like to use this: http://www.whfoods.com/foodstoc.php . You can see the exact nutrient content of real foods and what those nutrients will do for your body.

The sugar you want to cut out is from processed foods. In most cases, these "foods" aren't actually food, that is, there is almost zero recognizable nutrition.

Completely eliminate soda. After quitting soda, if I have one now, I realize how shitty it makes me feel.

Sun flower seeds helped me quit dip. I still grab a bag of seeds whenever I get the urge.

For every day eating, I just make more dinner than I need so that I have leftovers for lunch. I also make sure I eat that lunch before I leave the building to do any errands. This keeps me from caving to hunger and stopping for fast food.

lastly, I'll add that if the change you want to see is in body composition, give it some time. I, and many others, expect to see changes after a few days instead of a few weeks or months.

yeah this is exactly why people have such a hard time losing weight and following plans.

one person will say to do this, and then another person will say to do something else. fact is, every body is different but if you follow the numbers and make an effort you will see results.

count your macros, count your calories, get a workout plan, train hard, drink a lot of water, get a lot of rest, take supplements or creatine if you'd like, and get a lot of sleep.

most importantly though, set goals and make sure you're on track to meet them - but do not forget to enjoy life. you can still eat the foods you want in moderation as long as you are using it as a reward for the hard work you've put in.

nutrition and exercise are a life style. it's not something you work on for a year, it's about changing your life and developing good habits while erasing bad ones - but understanding that you can still have fun and splurge every once in a while if you've got your poo together.

I lost 100 lbs in roughly a year and a half.

I was gonna say sorta the same. If you find something that works for you and helps all your vitals as well, then do it.

I call this the Justin Graham effect.

Pull up a chair.

I coached middle school baseball for 5 years and we were a powerhouse.  I did totally innovative things no other coaches were doing yada yada.

So i had this first baseman named Justin. Lefty with a great natural swing but slow runner. One day in practice he couldn't catch the ball to save his life. I go uhh whats up man? Frustrated he goes i don't know coach you are gonna think im crazy but i have a hard time catching the ball with my cap on. Of course i LOL and go wellll ya kinda do have to wear it since its part of your uniform. Now he looked borderline exasperated so i told him to do this.  I said from now on, the moment the ball is hit, throw your hat down.  Of course now he thinks its ME who is crazy but i said just do it.

4 or 5 games later we are getting hot and working towards the playoffs and after one game a group of parents approach me after the gsme.

Coach can we talk? Sure what's up? Its about your first baseman.  Oh yeah Justin. Great kid, works hard and..no coach. We think he has anger or behavior issues? Of course i laugh and go what in the world do you mean? They go every time the ball is hit, he slams his hat to the ground. I laugh even harder and go well look and explain to them what i just said here. They look at me funny and go well it looks strange coach. I go did you see him miss a catch? They all shook their heads no. I just smiled and walked away.
