cook out,

a cook out doenst have to be meat based- I marinate and grill my own shi- take mushrooms as well as vegetables - as I am a pescatarian I also grill fish ocassionally and when they are in season have oyster roasts.  I rarely eat out and have come to prefer my and my wifes home built pizza and Mexican food - we control the ingredients and just as important  to me the cleanliness of the food preparation.  The more you know about what goes on behind the scenes in most restaurants,  the less you want to eat at one.

Total carbohydrates in apples comprise starches, sugars and fiber. Sugars are the most abundant type of carbohydrate in apples, while starches are present in small amounts. One medium gala apple with skin contains 23.5 grams of total carbohydrates. Nearly 18 grams of that total are from sugar, and 4 grams are dietary fiber. The rest is starch. Green apples contain slightly fewer carbs, evident by their tarter taste. One medium Granny Smith apple contains a little less than 23 grams of total carbs. Of that total, 4.7 grams are fiber, 16 grams are sugar, and the rest is starch.

However, a large body of scientific research indicates that dietary cholesterol and saturated fat are not the driving forces behind heart disease. Despite this evidence, much of the medical community continues to promote outdated dietary guidelines for patients with high cholesterol and heart disease, including low-fat and low-cholesterol diets. As it turns out, this outdated advice may actually be harmful to the heart!

You are arguing that apples are bad for you and that sausage and bacon are good for you.

Take a moment and just think about that for a while.

Pseudo science blogger. Not a doctor or actual scientific researcher.

You're right and it's perfectly sensible once you understand the impact of insulin. I am very insulin resistant, so I have to forego almost all carbs in order to beat back the effects of insulin and the resultant Type 2 diabetes (which Keto is used to completely reverse).

I get fiber but I do it through leafy greens rather than sugary fruits. Also, as someone who struggles with gout or pseudo-gout I have to avoid fructose.

For my diet my dinner was perfect -

Carbs and sugar don't  cause diabetes. Fat does. High fat diets are the cause of type 2 diabetes. Here is how it works...

Within two weeks of a whole food plant based diet most people are actually cured of type 2 diabetes. They can eat all the delicious fruit they want with 0 negative side effects.

Low carb diets don't cure type 2 diabetes they just take away the symptoms by restricting sugar.
