Amazon doing another buy 1 get 1 50% off and I just gotta stay back.    STAY back.

I dont think this RSD was huge draw...  I went to Lunchbox around 11 am and got the only one I was looking to get...    Not a huge list of decent issues this go round....  Picked up a handful of other used ones at a pretty good discount....

Did some dumpster diving at Repo too...  Some decent $1 digs....

I was going to do RSD but decided not too.    The Neil Young interested me but I think it's going to be available after this.    The Willie Nelson's too and maybe Joplin but the prices seemed a bit crazy.

I wanted to go used shopping but I've spent way too much this month and really the last three, I gotta chill out if possible lol.

Was never really into it, but I just met a dude here in town that is older, and says he has over 70k records...(no idea how much is good or bad) that is wanting to start selling off his stuff.

May have to play in these waters a bit.

He probably doesn't even know what he has lol.   I couldn't imagine keeping up with that many.

Haha

One of the things I like about buying albums from Amazon is that you also get the digital download as well.

Having said that, one of many reasons why I like records is that I find myself listening to the whole thing (or at least one side) instead of flipping through to another song halfway through.

Anyone get anything this shopping week?   Amazon did a buy 1 get 1 half off (damn you amazon) and got some more expensive stuff I've been trying to get.    That deal even worked on Boxsets, insane.     Between that and a couple visits to local stores for used vinyl, it's been a wallet denter.

A couple weeks ago I finally upgraded turntable to that Pro-ject and love it.

I didn't do record store day though, didn't feel like waiting in lines and seems the stuff is a bit overpriced.

You get the digital download code in almost every album nowadays. It’s in the sleeve.

If it's within a couple of years it should but even then, they expire (which is weird).      I'd say about 25% of my new records had a download code.

A few days ago I saw on the Next Door app for my neighborhood some lady was putting a box of records on the side of the road. Went and grabbed them immediately. Like 30 records or so, most of them obscure crap. Googled most of them and they're pretty worthless. A freaking bohemian Polka record even. Some nice finds though, it randomly had Daft Punk - Random Access Memories, and Bob Dylan - Another Self Portrait The Bootleg Series box set. One other random mood music record from 1954 that seems to be worth about $100 that I put on ebay. If there's free records somewhere, I'll go grab them. If it's crap I'll just hang the records on the wall in my rehearsal space.

That's a nice find just for the Daft Punk really.    Nice score, I never see stuff like that.    Vinyl collecting is pretty big in Charlotte it seems.    I've bought 5-10 records from dude on facebook (one of those local groups) for like 3 for 10 bucks and he always has good quality stuff (guess he's always working in restorations and stuff).    The record stores keep raising price of used vinyl, even in the last three months I've noticed, to where I may need to start considering passing on a lot of things.

Every time I go into goodwill or something it's just a stack of Mormon Tabernacle Choir lps lol.

Yea it seems if someone is giving away records, it’s stuff that will likely end up in the dumpster eventually. But there were a few hidden gems in this box. I’m always on the hunt for some free records but 80-90% of what you get will be absolute garbage

You guys have to start checking out estate sales. Nothing gets tossed and everything is for sale. I find boxes of LPs at about 75% of those I go to, and that's all I'm looking for. $25 for a box of 20-30 records, I take the few I may find and give the rest to my local used LP store, they give me a store credit and it's all good.

I thought about it, but it's usually when I'm at work it seems like.
