whew....that was tough!

 

games I hated to leave off: Diablo 3 (it sucked at launch, but has been tweaked so much. perfect dungeon crawler rpg now), Quake 3, COD4, Uncharted, Last of Us, Jet Grind Radio (don't ask), Soul Calibur, Halo CE, Zone of the Enders, Xenogears, and a horde of others.

1) Final Fantasy VI (III in Japan) (SNES)

2) Legend of Zelda (NES)

3) Call of Duty (All except Infinite Warfare)

4) FFVII (PS)

5) Resident Evil series (except for 6)

6) Tekken (doesn't matter)

7) Dead Island 1 & 2 (Xbox)

8) Street Fighter II (SNES)

9) The Tales series (Tale of Vesperia and the like)

10) Goldeneye (N64)

How could I have forgotten the Metal Gear series and the Fallout Series...

Damn I forgot to put Far Cry 3 on my list! The combat, outpost capture, and hunting aspects of that game were revolutionary for FPS. Also, the story was incredibly well done and unnerving.

many of the same on my list,

10. Metroid Prime - Brought Metroid back from the grave, and made boss fights epic again

9. Borderlands 2(series) - just soo much to do and soo much fun, and a very funny game too! 

8. Splinter Cell 3: Chaos Theory - the best of a once great series, this one was pure perfection, no wonder the franchise only went down from there

7. Elder Scrolls: Oblivion - The best of the Elder Scroll Games to date, not to mention some all time great side quests.

6. Pokemon Blue/Red - sooo many hours playing these as a kid

5. Halo 2/(series)- The first truly great Xbox game I've ever continuously for 2 years, I actually prefered Halo 4 as a more complete and well rounded game, but halo was so played out by 4 and its just on on the same level for its day. Still love the Halo's and Halo Wars 2 is on my current rotation, but Halo 5 was a huge disappointment.....

3.1. Red Dead Redemption - Pure love, one of the most perfectly complete games I've ever played, epic game from beginning to end

3.2. The Witcher 3 - Much like RDD this is the single best Fantasy game I've played to date.

2.  Final Fantasy 7 - I like most of the FF games, still havent played them all, but this will forever be a top 3 for me.

1. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - What can I say? the single best game I've ever played, used to go back and play through yearly till just a few years ago.

Honorable mentions:

BioShock - the first one was epic, the others not so much.

Mass Effect (series, can consider them a single game because of the story) - the ending to ME3 is the only thing that kept this from making the top 10, heck would be top 5 with a better ending.

Fallout 3 - nothing quite like nukin a town and drinking a nuka-cola while enjoying the view

Final Fantasy X - the last great Final Fantasy game that I've played

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - Ton of fun playing this back in the day

Mario 64 - a true classic

Super Smash Bros Melee - my favorite SSB game

GoldenEye 007 - my first shooter that I've ever played. lot of fun, but has not aged well at all.
