This is a good thing...as much as I hate to admit it, Davis looked to have taken a bit of a step back last season.

Granted, the entire defense did...but nonetheless. This could be a true passing of the torch season.

I must've missed those games...

You must have. I recall him getting burnt by Tevin Coleman for a TD against Atlanta.

Jacquizz Rodgers had a field day against us.

Say what you want- last year it was apparent that Davis was a step slower. It could have been the defense as a whole, or it could just be Father Time.

I don't think that Davis was a step slower, I think that Davis was balling. Did he miss a play or two, yes, ehat defender doesn't? The entire defense wasn't playing well as a whole and when that happens, veterans like Davis tries to compensate and he did.

Do we need his replacement, yes but not because he lost a step, because he's still here playing at a high level to train him...

Davis was not "balling" last year. By any stretch.

Davis played all 16 games, averaged: approx 100+ tackles, 3 sacks, 4 pdef, 2 int  and 2 ff, a year since 2012. That's pretty darn consistent.

Either way, we need to give Shaq more playing time behind one of best to wear Panthers uniform.

I have always thought we drafted Shaq to be groomed into replacing Davis. Shaq even was a LB/S hybrid in college just like Davis. Although I don't believe he hits as hard as TD I believe he will do just fine. I know this might not be a popular idea but with the regression of TD last year maybe this year will be his last and maybe he will regress even more. TD is one of the best panthers of all time and I hope we can win him a ring to take home. He is the definition of a hard working player.

Rogers best game against us was 30 runs for 101 yds. Not terribly good.

Coleman scored the one td between those 2 in 4 games.

Seems a bit of a stretch to use those as an example of poor play by TD over a season.
