McCaffrey on Rich Eisen show

That's funny he said the player it all started with in terms patterning his running style and versatility was Marshall Faulk. I've said in multple threads before thats a player he has the potential of becoming like if he really maximzes his potential. 

There really isn't another RB you can think of that was mostly elusiuve/speed guy but had the insane footwork / patience , and is a great WR as well (I'm looking at Faulk's 1999 season when he had 1000+Rush and Recieving yards in particular) . 
Also Add in the fact that Faulk was only an inch shorter than McCaffrey and didn't weigh that much either/ was never an extra imposing physical specimen outside his pads (Hell looking back at Faulk's late college pictures he looks way skinnier than McCaffrey) , but was just a gamer.

I enjoy listening to Rich Eisen.  Probably one of the best unbiased sports people in the business.  I can't ever recall him making some idiotic statement good or bad about a player.

I listened to that.  Very interesting, and exciting.  He does have the attitude to be successful, and he knows how to take care of his body.  

Needless to say, I think he's going to do a great job for us this season!

Been saying that around here for months now.

Faulk was taken 2nd overall....as a small running back....in a much different league.  It's not all that hard to imagine why CmC was so highly regarded....also why I think he would have been the pick for us even with LF on the board.

Yeah I watched Faulk's A Football Life documentary and its crazy how many times he was told he was too small to play RB in college and again before he got on an NFL field. 

There was a lot of old tape of his highschool and college days , knowing that marshall was known mostly for his great vision/elusiveness/smarts, by fuging god he was a speed demon. Same with McCaffrey. 

Part of the legend is that Faulk just exploded for 143 rush yards and 3 TDs in his first pro game, people just knew he was going to be good immediately. I'm just really looking forward to the San Fran game. I'm not sure McCaffrey's stats will be all the great even if he's good, since Stewarts going to be here for at least another couple seasons. I'm still curious how they're going to split the RB time.

Def been posted before I've watched it multiple times, but cool nonetheless for people who haven't seen it 

- Faster 10 yard run than Antonio brown

- Stride rate per sec, much faster than John Ross 

- Able to change his direction faster than a normal human can react to it 

Sounds like the ultimate weapon to me if he's good. All he's missing is power to churn out short yardage and goal line, not sure if he NEEDS it but it would make him a little more complete . If not we'll probably still need to get a power back in 2 years unless we just use Armah for that role.

I like him. 

Biggest thing I took from the interview was how Eisen stated that Faulk would know what everyone was supposed to do on the field. Mccaffery said eventually he'd be like that as well, and that really stuck out to me in a good way. I believe Bersin is like that now, and that's probably one of the reasons he keeps finding himself on the 53.

A bit surprised how Rich grilled him on not playing in the bowl game/no private workouts/would he have played if it was National Championship game. Christian answered all those questions beautifully. It reminded me of Greg Olsen and how intelligent and well spoken he is.
