Broncos revoke season ticket rights

The Broncos revoked a bunch of season ticket holders rights for selling them on secondary markets. That's sort of harsh. I don't think the Panthers could legally do that due to PSL rights. It sure would keep Panther fans in the seats though.

If you bought season tickets and didn't go to a single game, then I can understand why you might lose your rights to purchase them.  Unless of course you were in the hospital, or military deployed, or something along those lines.  

 

And its only a few hundred purchasers.

That point wasn't lost on me.

PSLs came into existence because back in the early Charlotte Hornet days people were selling there season ticket rights in classified adds in the Charlotte Observer. I am sure there are more than a few Panther PSL owners who didn't go to a single game last season.

This is confusing. If I don't go to a single game then I guess the team would know that from ticket scans. If my ticket gets scanned do they then have people scouring second hand sites or something to make sure it was me? There are tons of folks in Carolina who bought tickets early on planning to drive in 4 hours each Sunday. Now they don't do that but keep the tickets for playoff purposes. They use the secondary market

I was wondering that myself.  If I resell the tickets, how do they know?

The tickets were used. The Broncos tracked the tickets on the secondary market sites. Some of these guys have been season ticket buyers since the 1970's.

Probably, but it does seem that our system is a little different that the Bronco system.  Or maybe I am misreading it.  But as Happy asked, how would they know if a PSL owner resold the tickets?  When I buy tickets on the secondary market, I don't necessarily know the specific seat numbers until late in the transaction.

Not sure who sets the ticket prices, whether it be the NFL, the team, or the owners. But, whoever decided to charge the same price of a regular season game for the preseason games can suck on my cock.
