"a Panthers team that has consistently competed at a high-level in this league"

We haven't had back to back winning seasons in our franchise history. Does this guy know that??

Well... when your franchise hasn't reached the playoffs since... what?.... 98? 99?... and you go somewhere between 7-9 and 9-7 every year, I suppose your standards are pretty low and you get pretty desperate lol

and the panthers aren't?  newton will never win a super bowl.  he's not a leader.  he's a child.  the entire panthers team is good but very similar to the bills in talent.  your organization got pwned by the south this year after the exposing of how weak you were in the super bowl

don't kid yourselves.  i warned you years ago that the bills would be more successful, at least marginally.

either way, i'll be banned, i just had to come laugh at you fair weather fans.  at least you have the tarheels to be happy about, because there ain't much else in north carolina to be proud of these days.

Go over well for you this will not

He's an asshole. Look at that haircut; anyone with a haircut like that, you know he's an asshole.

Ah...WhoGAF?  This guy isn't a talent scout.  Great finance guy and all but did not need to be in line as the heir apparent.

Didn't want him in 2013, wouldn't want him in 2019 as GM.

Good luck in the land that time forgot.

and on the other hand New York has nothing to be proud of these days since the city of Boston kicks your ass not only in football but every other major league sport as well

The first time I heard his name was when Hurney was fired for Rivera sucking.

The general huddle feeling was that of dread that this kid would become our GM.

Fast forward, now the huddle acts like we lost our actual GM.

Peace out Beane-Boy.

Good for him, I'm honestly not mad at all.

I would prefer we bring in an outside guy when Gettleman either retires or we fire him, new blood to look at the positions at hand could be a good thing.

I'm not positive they'll replace Beane. From what I've read, the promotion to Assistant GM was an enticement to stay more so than any need felt to actually have someone in that role.

If they do decide to hire another guy for that spot, I'd expect an internal promotion like Don Gregory and then someone else backfilling his old spot (Jeff Morrow maybe).

One name to think about if they do look outside though: Jimmy Raye III.

Raye was recently let go from the Colts, but prior to joining them he was Director of College Scouting for the Chargers for about six years. He hasn't worked with Gettleman, but he and Ron Rivera were colleagues in San Diego.

It'd be no shock if Rivera put in a good word for him to Gettleman. Heck, Raye had received GM consideration before and was highly thought of prior to hitching a ride on Ryan Grigson's fail  train.

For what it's worth, Raye was born in Fayetteville NC and spent part of his childhood there before his family moved to California. Brian Gutekunst was also born in the Carolinas (Raleigh) so maybe...nah.

Jeff Beathard is another inside guy I could see getting promoted (he's got the genes for it) though not as high as Assistant GM.

Don't really care as I'd rather have a scout and or Gman pick his crew if things suck after this year.

But also a big LOL @ people thinking we actually got all the guys we wanted. Fiz showed you retards in a thread exactly what would be said no matter what happened in the draft and that has been said and yall still eat it up and it's hilarious. He should do a new thread making fun of you.

Man, this whole situation sucks. It's just way too shady for my liking and I'm pissed. I don't care about "the good for him" and "this is a business" statements. What just happened was dirty.

So guys can't move on and up without it being dirty. Interesting load of poo you're attempting to shovel.
