The McCaffrey/Samuel Effect on Stewart

If it's that simple why haven't other teams done this?

like I said above teams didn't need to stack the box to stop Stewart last season. He doesn't have the speed anymore to scare people.

Also our receivers struggled against man to man last season

If this is true then it doesn't matter if McCaffrey or anyone for that matter causes teams to stack the box because they aren't doing anyway.

Or are you saying they are still stacking the box, just not because of Stewart?

Mccaffrey isn't gonna affect whether a defense stacks the box, IDK how they are gonna use Samuel.

In some ways I agree with this, McCaffrey might part of the reason but not the entire reason.  At the end of the day how well Cam plays (passing) will decide if teams stack the box against us.  McCaffrey, Samuel, Kalil, they might be all help to make Cam's job easier.

I don't have any numbers in front of me, so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I would guess that teams probably stacked the box against us more than most teams.  It never really seemed like teams were afraid of our passing attack.

Everything we seem to do on offense seems to be difficult.  Even Cam's rushing, Wilson will have 50 yards rushing and hardly get touched whereas Cam will have 50 yards rushing on power runs.  Everyone talks about the receivers separations which is true, how many easy throws does Cam make?

Maybe the occasional screen pass to McCaffrey will slow down the rush, which will let Cam throw to Samuel on a deep route while Kalil is blocking the other teams end.

Whether or not you agree with the first 2 picks of the draft you have to at least be somewhat excited over the possible philosophical change of the offense . That is if Shula can coach it and Cam can execute it.

Interesting thoughts and I agree that Stew could have a big year but I think it's more likely to be big in efficiency rather than big in stats resulting in a pro bowl or all pro. McCaffrey will get a lot of carries that Stew would've gotten. I think we'll be reminded of double trouble a lot this year. Rivera likes having two backs working off each other. McC and Stew are a great 1-2 punch.

So I am not a Panthers fan because I don't think Stewart will rush for over 1,000 yards this season with the new weapons added to the offense and the discussed evolving offense?

I think the offense will be more dynamic....I think the offense will be higher scoring....I think the passing offense will evolve....but it is unlikely that we will have one RB with over 1,000 yards.

Thanks for proving that you are a blithering idiot.

It really depends on the offensive line. If they can stay healthy, Stew will produce when called upon as he always has. It's is fairly telling that Gettlemen parted ways with Williams and Stew is still on the roster two seasons later.

Also, CMC and Samuel give us the ability to pull out a Patriot style of offense; one that will adjust week to week to exploit weaknesses and not one that will simply say that we are going to do what we are going to do and you can try to stop it.
