On paper is this the best roster we've ever assembled?

Our schedule is substantially easier than last year.

I don't think that at all. I think this years schedule is harder than last years. Last year we played the weak Western divisions. And of our own division, only Atlanta was really that good a team.

Miami and Buffalo might be 10 win teams this year. The Pats are the Pats. The NFC North is gonna be full of tough teams, save Chicago. Then we have the Eagles and our own division. The only games I see as "gimme" games are the NYJ, Chicago, and SF games. The rest will be hard fought.

Is it not OK to get excited about the coming season and a talented roster?

There are those of us who can actually NOT "temper" our expectations then, if things don't turn out the way we expected, actually handle that eventuality with a modicum of sanity and without going into clinical depression or suicidal thoughts.

I've never understood the "temper your expectations!" or the "don't get your hopes up!" crowd.  Why not?  Are you saying you can't handle disappointment?  So the safest way to protect your feelings is just to never be hopeful or positive?

I mean, what's so bad about being optimistic or being a FAN that some of you think it needs to be medicated like some form of mental disease?

BAM!!!!!

Millennials will never learn.   They wait for the participation trophies too.

To be honest we had a pretty good team the year we went to the Superbowl the first time. Mostly because there was much of a drop off when the backups came in, our 2nd string was almost as good as our first and we were lucky with injuries that year as well.

I remember I was in Vegas that year watching a Preseason game and thinking it was a special year.

Alot is hinging on the success or lack thereof from mccaffey and Samuel , that and oline , cam, Luke having full healthy season.

If somehow no one got injured and at least one of the rookie is good, we could have a great season
