On paper is this the best roster we've ever assembled?

rookie RB and WR can come in from day one and be very productive.where as at LT and QB there is a major learning curve.so there are in fact variables whenever evaluating the possible productivity of a rookie...just my 2 cents

I doubt that it is far and away better but in my time as a fan (22 years now?) this is the best roster top to bottom I've seen.

This doesn't have to translate into actual success but as it stands this is a very well rounded roster.

Nope

Still have concerns about our DE opposite of Addison, Davis struggled a lot last season in pass coverage. Coleman is meh, and Worley is still an unknown

Our offense is gonna rely on rookies which usually doesn't work out, Stewart is a year older, and we don't know what we are gonna get from Kalil.

Cam needs to play lights out in order for us to dominate.

i'm almost certain that we invited only 5 UDFAs to camp.so that there alone is a testament to how well rounded this roster is top to bottom.

on the defensive side of the ball i would like to see us acquire another outside corner via free agency.but overall i think as it stands right now we have a top 10 defense.

on the offensive side of the ball i'm not worried as much about McCaffery & Samuel right now as i am Matt Kalil at LT and Moton at RT.if history is any indication of the future then Moton will be thrown to the wolves at RT and Kalil will be trying to reinvent himself  and preform as he once did whenever he was a rookie pro bowler at LT.if these two have a good year then i think Cam and all of his weapons will prosper

there is neck to neck competition amongst the kickers and punters .and our punt returners and kick returners should be solid and a dramatic improvent over what we've become accustomed to

What's this rely on rookies crap? Who are we relying on? CMC and Samuel are complimentary pieces, playmakers that can change the course of a game but I think it's a bit of a reach to say we are relying on them. Stewart is the starter and we have pass catchers in KB, Olsen, and Funchess. The defense isn't just going to be able to key in on the rookies and if they do we have veterans who are more than capable of making them pay.

Ive said it before, but you guys are really underestimating KB and selling him way short. It's not like we're asking CMC and Samuel to come in and be the starting RB and #1 WR.

This team on paper is more talented than the 2015 team. But football is way more than the sum of the individual parts. It's hard to overstate what team chemistry, scheme, momentum, schedule, and even the way the ball bounces plays into the overall season.

IMO, this team has more talent than any team since 2013 and maybe 2008.

The 2013 team had a subpar secondary (Norman rode the bench most of the season) but the Dline was one of the best in team history. The 2008 team was stacked but the secondary started leaking towards the end of the year and Delhomme imploded.

This year's defense should be good if a lot of injuries don't strike. There is definitely talent on offense, but there is also question marks from Cam to the offensive line to the scheme to the WR group.

Our schedule is substantially easier than last year. IMO our division record will determine our season. 1-5 ain't going to cut it.

Think our floor is probably 8-8 This year since we play 49ers, Washington (we just seem to have their number) AFC East (3 very winnable games outside Pats, especially since we get Miami at home), and NFC North.

I think anywhere from 8-8 to 12-4 is reasonable. However, I think it will take at least 11 wins to clinch the division since I think the other NFC South teams will feast on the AFC East too.

Really will come down to division games.

No 2003 had 2 Hall of Famers and the best DT in football at the time.

Yes, but the entire roster was the point.  (Your point is very solid too).

TD, Luke, and Olsen could be hall of famers.

KK, Star could be nearly as good as Jenkins.

Better QB, better WRs, and better CBs now.

Close.
