Fastest Panther Currently and Sleeper..Marvin Bracy?

Recommended Posts

I haven't seen any thread about it so i decided to go ahead and put this kids name out there. It is more than likely this could be just a blip or even a rookie camp trial thing. But, if he does make it past this stage I think his chances of making atleast the practice squad like Byrd could be promising. Forget CMC speed....I would even chuckle off Samuels being Faster than this kid. We are talking Maybe the fastest player in the league. Bracy was a talented 4 star all-american Wideout entering FSU a few years ago after watching him catch one-handed catches during the all american game I came away drooling at the mouth at the potential he could have for my Seminoles...Sadly before he could get through the summer workouts,The Olympics came calling...Yes this kid right out of highschool was clocking 10.1 times in the hundred yard dash and has been timed as low as 9.93 in the 100 meters.

*UPDATED did a little digging to find the UA Clip.

Insane catch at the UA game. Also cameo from Corn Elder.

Were talking about a kid who in 2012 ran the worlds fastest indoor 55 meter run at 6.08-seconds.os-fsu-kermit-whitfield-cousin-marvin-br

After being all but the slowest team in the NFL I am very excited about all the speed that we are trying to get into our offense. This will make for an exciting camp.

Yall better write this down because this will most likely be the first and only time you hear this name with the Panthers.

I'm not so certain that's true.

Rivera raved about him after Friday's minicamp. Granted, it's only minicamp, but all we're talking about here is a shot at the training camp roster.

When was the last time that there was speed like this on the squad? Speed to burn!! How are his hands?

Let this clip show you how good his hands are. I think a lot of people are thinking this is a track guy trying to play football, but this kid was a football player from day 1. But given the choice between 4 years of college and a Rio Invite to turn pro right out highschool not many people would turn that way. Also a cameo of Corn Elder in the video...

Man would I love to see a:

Samuel Byrd Bracy wide out package for straight up verticals, Olsen work the middle and McCaffrey as designated dump off.

How could one defend this? The safeties would have to play deep or bracket thus leaving one burner. Olsen would outmatch the linebacker. McCaffrey could possibly gain outrageous yards due to all the speed pushing the backend deep and Olsen preoccupying the linebacker.

There be so much illegal contact by the defense because you do not to be beat deep by the burners.

Just cut CJ2 and let the WR crew be: KB, DF(trade him for a bag of Doritos), Samuel, Shepard, Byrd and Bracy.

This team needs to use speed as a trap to set up plays.

This makes me happy as fug...our offense has been slow in all aspects...maybe the FO finally realizes it and willing to address it. SPEED KILLS

KB and Olsen came out with a lot of help from this draft. Defenses now have to respect the speed element which helps them not to be doubled as much and not making Cam force throws.

I may be unhitching myself from the Byrd train as well, and hitching it to Bracy's lol.  I remembered seeing him and hearing about him during the Olympics, but didn't realize we had him until someone tweeted about him yesterday.  The problem historically with the Olympic Track-Hopeful guys is that they mostly only excelled in football because of their speed, but not necessarily any actual football skills.  Even our own Michael Bates was a WR who didn't play WR, lol, he was just so damn fast that he could return kicks (and cover them) like nobody's business.  In Bracy's case, he appears to possibly be the exception to the rule.  He was a 4-star recruit, went to a college football powerhouse as evidence, but then went after his dreams in track...  Regardless, he appears to have some natural football instincts and skills aside from his world-class speed - looks to be a natural hands catcher and his speed translates to the field.  Also, FWIW, IIRC, Voth tweeted yesterday during the practice to keep an eye out on Bracy as a guy to possibly emerge from camp.  I'm hopeful about this guy and stoked about our overall upgrade in the speed category across the board.

    • Canales was brought in to fix Bryce. That was how he sold himself. He failed.  the panthers need a new qb, someone to coach him, and someone to build a defensive staff.  Canales has failed at developing a new qb. His big draft project XL is trending towards bust. His entire nfl resume before the panthers was one season as offensive coordinator on a stacked Bucs team, and being on the offensive staff when a 31 year old Geno smith finally put it all together. And he didn’t even pick his offensive coordinator. Assuming evero is gone, who’s he got in that phone to call? What low lvl porn addict evangelical from the bucs is ready to be Peter principled? There is nothing in his coaching history or his current performance that indicates he’s the person to move this team forward. Every other team knew this last cycle (panthers were only interview) and nothing has happened to change that perception   all people like you have is “well you can’t do it again it’s too soon but <random interval of time> will be different.  just pull off the bandage. There’s no reason to let this guy draft “his guy” except people wanting an excuse not to fire him after 2025.
    • Both Reich and Canales were saddled with trying to build and establish a viable scoring offense around Bryce Young. The best the offense looked this season and last season was with Andy Dalton who is also terrible but still better than Bryce Young. Which should be all anyone needs to know but still somehow there are weirdos here salivating over a ceiling of maybe on a really good day the 25th best QB in the league. We've already canned one entire staff over our first overall pick. You can fire everyone again to satisfy your need for vengeance and quickly come to the realization that your next hire will absolutely unequivocally be a downgrade yes man or you can blow up this QB room and then assess. If no progress next season then you can make changes and justifiably so.
    • Surprised this is the only post with this take.  This is like the Rhule kiss of death lol.
