The former South Carolina wide receiver ran a 4.25 40-yard dash that was the talk of the Gamecocks’ Pro Day . Some scouts clocked Byrd as low as 4.16, he was told.

Byrd had a 42-inch vertical and 10-foot-11 broad jump. He did the short shuttle in 4.03 seconds, the three-cone in 6.6 seconds and the 60-yard long shuttle in 10.90 seconds, which is unheard of (that time is faster than any other time posted at the 2015 scouting combine). Byrd also had 13 strength lifts.

A difference this year is the WR coach. They are the first persons who's opinion matters. So that allows for some variance from years past

That 4.2 speed yielded 1 NFL catch last year.  Hoping for the best but not holding my breath.  

I think speed is a great attribute but at the tail end of the roster you need more than that.  I think that's why Bersin has stuck for so long.  Not great at anything but solid (enough) at a lot.
