Jax is my guess. Good money and starter gig.

He signs with us he would probably get 30 targets a year here and his receiving yards would go way down and everyone here would be complaining again about us needing a 2nd TE.

We have to become jewelry salesmen, it seems. No gold to be mined in Buffalo or Jax.  Both teams rebuilding.  Jax has QB issues--GB suffered from QB issues in Jax.  Who is taking snaps in Buffalo?  Let's not forget that the TE has been the #1 receiver here for the past 2 seasons.  Cam likes to throw to the TE.

I think I could get him here. I am going to ask DG if he wants me there.  I will keep everyone posted when he responds.

If he has an agent that lets him sign a deal for 3 million then his agent needs to be :

Shot

Burned

Rushed to the emergency room given years of corrective surgery and therapy

Then shot again....

Look at average tight end salaries and tell me Barnige is a 3 million dollar tight end.

http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/rankings/average/tight-end/

Jack Doyle averages 6.5 mill per year.

His deal "should" be somewhere between Marcellus Bennet and bare minimum Jared Cook.

Can the deal be done?  Sure.  Can it be done easily for 3 mill???????  No #$#$#$##$ way!!

It's not like he is coming off years of being over paid and trying to go for the ring,  hell he wasted 4 of his career here the first time.

A lot of factors go into a deal.  He just signed one 2 years ago for $3m--and he was 29.  At 32, his value did not double.  He had a bad year last year.  Most teams have filled their rosters and have to make moves to accommodate him.  He is not a $6m player, fwiw. He has had 1 great season..

It's not like Barnidge is a guy who has made tens of millions in his career. I don't blame him for chasing the $$$ if that's what he does.

Anyone that blames a player for chasing the money forgets that the NFL is a business.

im 100% for what josh Norman did, and if I had the option I'd do the same myself.

Very good points. I'll just add this.

I think we will have more cap space than that. That site still hasn't updated Shorts new cap hit. According to the NFLPA we have 19.3 Million right now. The rookie pool should only count about 6.5 -7 Million considering only our top 4-5 picks will make enough to count against the top 51.

Leaving us around 12.5 or so after draft picks are signed, which is really close to the 13.2 Million we rolled over to this year.

I am wondering if Voth is saying he doubt's it because of the lack of playing time and limited usage we use of our 2nd TE in the passing game. Surely he could be closer to someone else's Olsen vs being our replacement to Dickson. Also is he a better run blocker than Dickson?

Matt Kalil just got a MASSIVE payday for just "one good season" wherever he goes he'll be overpaid, which ain't here.

One of them orange traffic cones blocks as good as Dickson so I would imagine GB blocks better
