Quick. What new wrinkle have you seen on offense so far this year?

there must be a spike of solar flares because from football to poltics fiz and i have agreed on TOO much.

TOTALLY agree on Rosario being the 2nd best WR.

What did Rosario run in the 40. I don't usually care about that sort of number but think about this. The reason most of us assume is not the full time starter at TE is that he isn't the best in-line blocker (even though I think he is improving). But his average blocking skills as a TE would be very good compared to most WR. Why not use him in the slot? He could help out our outside run game and could really flourish there.

If he is beating his man off the snap and is running free in the slot. You don't think that can help the running game?

The running game is lacking, not because of blocking but because they are too easy to gameplan against.

The new wrinkle I have seen is that we have two 1st rd. RB's that averaged almost 5 yds a carry apiece last year. A massive OL that does not dance well, but loves to grade roads. A QB that at his best right now is shaky and 1 WR that is constantly covered by two defenders and another WR that has to detour to the side lines to get Oxygen while running a deep route. Yet, we are passing the ball like we are an Arena Football League team.

It is completely inexcusable. That is the problem with our Offense right now.

Im really grasping at straws on how we can turn this O around. Just thinking outside the box. I really didn't think this one through thoroughly. Just an idea.

New wrinkle: Not running the ball.

Haven't been impressed with this new wrinkle.

Well said.

You play with the cards you are dealt.

Lots and lots of misdirections and sprinkle in some reverses.

You will NEVER create the one on one's you want because the Panthrs do nothing to make the D shift.

A reverse with DeA giving or faking to SS. Get the D running from side line to sideline.

Do half back passes. Not a ton but you have to create enough doubt and uncertainty on D that will give you the edge

Some small roll outs for Jake. Get him away from the pocket.Again, just enough movement and spacing where the D has to account for this.

I think that it all starts with the oline, and they are absolutely horrible so far. Teams are just blitzing the poo out of us, and there seems to be nothing they can do about it. You would think there would be more draws and screens(yeah right). DeAngelo should be one of our top receivers by now. In that same vein, the playcalling has been god-awful. Seems like Fox has his teeth all over the offense, just like the defense.

I think that the bottom line is that Fox has to go.

i don't understand what happened to the panthers o-line, it went from being one of the best in football to turnstiles. they looked beyond awful on monday.

this here is the biggest issue to our offense. Those constantly beating down Delhomme, granted you have valid points and I agree with those valid points, but this is THE BIGGEST reason our offense has killed it for the Carolina Panthers..

Absolutely no run game or pass protection...

As for wrinkles in the offense, well I've seen formations other than the I-Formation and the Single back formation, or 2 TE sets...... without much pass protection from the OLine, like '07 where we just couldn't expand due to a lack of cohesion, I doubt we see much expansion of the playbook...
