we cut a lot of dead weight added and a lot of pieces in areas of need through free agency

then revamped the offense through the draft(plus hall) and you think we're the 20th best team in the league right now?

Panthers were hot garbage all year so I'm going to say that's pretty reasonable. Potential to move up quick early in the season though.

We don't even know if Cam will be able to play the first few weeks. We have no clue if kalil will be able to block a lick at left tackle either.

Don't care. Preseason rankings are as worthless as draft grades. Just something to get clicks. We'll find out when we hit the field.

Not only is it fair(since we were terrible last year),but it's the kind of thing you want as a football coach and organization. Football players thrive on the feeling of being disrespected.  The lower we are, the more our players read about it and the harder they work to prove the world wrong.  Look at 2015 for proof. I hope they rank us near the bottom of every ranking possible so the articles can be slapped on walls and used as motivation.
