Why does DG get cute in last 2 rounds?

I always get a kick out of when anyone who doesn't work in an NFL front office talks about "my board" like it actually fuging matters. Stop using industry lingo and just spout your useless opinion on prospects.

/rant off

But all the Tape he spent watching though.

Ok maybe Hodges bad example but why not take a flyer on a safety like Xavier Woods or Desmond King who would play corner or convert to safety?

And if you look back on DG's last two rounds you'll see water football has been right about his picks along with the ones after his picks in last two round.

I liked Woods too, but he was on the east Shrine Game roster and guess who was one of the coaches? None other than Curtis Fuller, our DB coach. I'd say we had pretty decent insight on the kid as far as late round draft prospects go.

He doesn't get cute, he looks for diamonds in the rough that likely have a lot of room to grow and develop.  The fact that we, and Walter, don't know the player says more about us than Gettleman.  Most fans and wannabe draft guru's believe we have at least heard of all the good prospects, so assume that if a player is picked that we don't know he must suck and is just another bad pick.

But this is where Gettleman shows why he's the GM of a real NFL team, and we are sitting on the internet trying to figure out who the heck this guy is.  Somehow he is able to find guys from Podunk University that have the potential to develop into a good player, but for one reason or another are overlooked.  It's the difference between actual scouting and data mining prospect info.
