Gnat,I never started telling about extensive scouting...get your momma to read his profile for you...it didnt take extensive scouting to see this guy was a good prospect.

I agree definitely...think he is a good prospect as well.

I think with the defensive scheme we run, we don't need an all world talent at FS or SS, we need guys that are smart and are where they are supposed to be every single snap.

Yeah it'd be great to draft a Jamal Adams or some stud, but there is a learning curve in our scheme and it seems like young guys tend to struggle in it. So yes, I'd have preferred we drafted a mid to late guy to develop into the role as an eventual starter, but we did that with other positions of need in RB, OT, DE, K, and WR. Besides, two years ago we picked up Dean Marlowe as a UDFA. People around here forget about him because he was hurt last year. From all accounts, and Jeremy last offseason, they were expecting him to push for a starting role until he got hurt.

So I'm willing to roll with an older dude at the position for this season, and hopefully next year Marlowe develops into the role, or we sign a slightly younger FA at a reasonable price that is smart enough to play in our scheme and is a sure tackler.

But as of right now, it's not a pressing and glaring need for us.

And they are actually going to get comp pick for letting him go in Fa.. They got him for nothing he played special teams for them and now they will get a comp pick because he signed with the colts...lol

No, in all likelihood they aren't. The Pats signed Gilmore to a huge contract, 5 years 65 million. While Mingo signed a 1 year deal for 2.5 million.

They also lost logan Ryan, Blount, Bennett, and others so just by the added loses they will end up with a comp pick while still making major signings in FA.. So again they took a chance on a 1st round talent and lost nothing and will actually gain from him leaving..

Trolling or #facts..
