Hey Dave we know you don't give a poo about the safety position..

Some people think this is sound logic:

1. Occasionally reclamation projects work out.

2. Ergo, we must sign or trade for every horrible player and make them a reclamation project.

Pats do this poo all the time.. We've have done it as well.. At this same position.. and had good to great success..

You don't know that..

LOL. Well neither do you man- you're haphazardly speculating at best. I have vastly more evidence that Pryor would not be the starter and Mike Adams would

First off: Mike Adams is better.

Second: Clearly the Panthers wanted Adams, probably going to start the guy they wanted.

Third: Mike Adams is a veteran presence just like the last successful guy to start at SS was for us: Harper: who would still be here if he had any gas left in the tank. The front office and coaches loved that veteran leadership he provided. Harper was starting games he had no business too- because our coaches loved how he positively helped our team. Guess who that replacement veteran leader is: Mike Adams.

Four: Calvin Pryor has been so bad the Jets are willing to give him up for "anything" and drafted safeties with their first and second round picks. That does not sound like the kind of guy that's out beating a consecutive Pro Bowl player.

Five: We already have a project safety on our team: Tre Boston

If you give up anything Pryor you have no idea how negotiations work in the first place. Jet's have no leverage here. Pryor is likely getting cut.

Calvin Pryor sucks he's getting cut at some point they just drafted two guys that can disguise their blitz looks as both Maye and Adams can do a lot of the same things. Jets safety's are going to be beastly, and it's not like their front is bad either with Richardson and Wilkerson but I don't even know who is playing QB for them

1. We both don't know duh "lol" but recent history has proven Wilkes can take other teams trash and get  probowl seasons out of them..

2. Low risk high reward look it up..

3. Again he comes here and balls out we have his rights.. We control negocitation without outside teams influences.. That's how it works cupcake..

4. You do it before he gets cut so you don't get in a bidding war with other teams trying to do take advantage of the same low risk situation.. And all you give up is peanuts..

5. Tre Boston is more of a FS and why not have 2 projects anyway.. It's callled competition..

6. This is just a suggestion so.....lol .

on to your points

1- Why would we take a chance developing Pryor? We already have young players that could utilize more coaching: Worley, Bradberry, Elder. Wilks is defensive coordinator now, he's not going to have time to fix the Jet's trash.

2-How about no risk, high reward- the guy we already have Mike adams. Nothing Pryor has done has given anyone, any indication that he is "high reward" at this point.

3- I truly don't even know what you are saying there, I think you just wanted to sound demeaning and call me cupcake.

4- I'd take peanuts over a guy who isn't going to contribute to this team. Now, as I said in my OP, if Mike Adams gets hurt that's a different story.

5- See point 1.

6. This is just me responding to your post so don't get so offended when someone has a different opinion than you that is backed up by evidence instead of Madden logic.

2 is BS.  This brief YouTube video alone shows him making plays against OBJ, Dez, Brady/Gronk, Watt, Witten, and picking off Luck.  That's as high reward as it could possibly get in this league, and he was always considered more of a tone setter than coverage guy.

No team in the salary cap era is without flaws.  I'm not a guy that values safeties more than other positions either, I desperately wanted Barnett at 8, but I can objectively see from a wide lense a job very well done by GMan getting value and needs overall.  I'm very happy.

But our safety situation is below average at best and potentially catastrophic at worse.  A young, talented guy like Pryor seems almost too good to be true and can be had for "anything".

We are in "win now" mode--Richardson knows he doesn't have 5 years to do this---Peppers, CJ, Munnerlyn---the band is getting back together for one last tour--and these ringless vets want jewelry. , So McCaffrey and Samuel make sense for the now--a DE to develop in the first round is developmental---they just are.  We take Barnett (I  wanted him too Nails)  and you lose McCaffrey--a player they wanted because he is unique even when compared to other backs.  Barnett, in a playoff run, probably does not help much with 3 hungry vets in front of him going for their first and last Super Bowl win.

When Cam struggled last year, we had no options.  Stewart behind Remmers or Wiliams or Scott?   Throwing to Funchess/Benjamin, 2 long striders that take 4 seconds to get open?  Ginn---the speedy, slippery-fingered deep threat?  Where were the 3-step drop routes?  We had Brown and Tolbert out of the backfield as the checkdown.  Where were the screens?  The draws?  When the TE is your top receiver, you tend to lose.

I get it now.  McCaffrey and Samuel. are the offensive Spark we need to take the load when Cam doesn't have time or is off.  They give him weapons.  We still got a developmental DE, but I am confident that we will address DE again soon.

1. Good teams do it all the time.. See B Mingo and the Pats or Us and Mike Mitchell..

2. How about him being the only SS on the roster right now that we have any faith in.. And he's 35.. What's wrong with having competition and a cheap insurance policy..

3. Reading comperhension cupcake .. I was explaining the rewards of having a 1st round talent come in and ball out for your team.. on the cheap..

4. There you going playing Mrs. CLEO.. You nor I know what he could do in this system with the coaching of Wilkes.. So please stop ..

5. SEE POINT 1..LOL

6. He responded putting a whole different idea into it.. All the "you must hate Gman" because you're giving a suggesting of what he could do.. He didn't have to respond in the 1st place if he didn't care for the subject..  So i will respond any way a fuging want with whatever logic that usually ends up right... Cupcake..

    • At this rate, maybe he'll be a decent 8-9 QB on his 3rd HC by year 6. Standards are so low around here now. Tepper has done some serious damage to the fan base.
