Can someone ease my mind on C. Samuel?

I like the pick. Even tho I wanted a good TE or DE. As long as stew stays healthy and a good blocker we should be ok on  offense and on defense.  We have back ups and good veteran presence on DEF.  Hopefully we can get a TE or  SS and another DE.

That ship may have sailed. Giving up that 4th rounder really hurts. We may miss out on a Sprinkle or a Butt unless we give up another pick or two, and honestly it may not be worth it. That back end of the draft may be all about BPA and guys with the most upside, or perhaps we give away a couple more picks and hope Dave does some magic immediately after the draft ends.

How has no one mentioned Randall Cobb as a Samuel comp?

I think he has Cobb return and receiving skills and Tyreek Hill speed out of the backfield and straight line speed. I think he is more of a mix between both which is good. Cotchery will teach him everything he needs to know to work that slot. Amazing draft pick in my opinion.

I just watched every Curtis Samuel snap of the Ohio State Michigan game... They put the entire offense on this guy's shoulders. He does tend to body catch, but he also makes some pretty great catches away from his body as well. He obviously has the coordination to make acrobatic catches. He can track the ball running downfield. People just read the weaknesses on his NFL draft combine profile and didn't like what they read.

Several weeks ago Gil Brant on Sirius NFL said that when you look back in ten years that Samuel has a chance to be considered the best pick of this draft.  All you can ask is he in that group of players that has that potential.

Love the Cobb comparison, and Samuel could even be better.

Here are comparable measurements....

Cobb-- 5'10, 191 lbs, 31 arm length, 9 3/8 hands, 4.46 40yd, 16 bench, 33.5 vert, 115 broad, 7.08 3 cone, 4.34 shuttle

Curt-- 5'11, 195 lbs,  31.25 arm length, 9 1/2 hands, 4.31 40yd, 18 bench, 37 vert, 119 broad, 7.09 3 cone, 4.33 shuttle

the only thing Cobb beats him in is the 3 cone drill. Curtis beats Cobb in every other measurable, and is taller and 5 lbs bigger. They even have similar birthdays and were drafted at 20 yrs old each, cobb turned 21 in august of his rookie year, Samuel will be 21 in august.
