Does anyone know if Thomas Davis is a free agent next year?

Letting Davis walk would be a vey big mistake. He is more valuable to this defense than Peppers and the rest of them, except Beason.

Why trade a first rounder who is suddenly contributing and looking great for a first round draft pick who has done nothing on the field and will want 10s of millions before he makes 1 play. I don't know why everyone is so enamored with high drafts. With the exception of Peppers I would rather keep a sure thing over potential.

Heck,I'm regretting Peppers being franchised THIS year,let alone next year for even more$$$!

oddly enough for us an uncapped year is great. Makes us RFA Davis and Marshall, lets us dump all the old age dead weight, and gives us the room to franchise Peppers long enough to give him away - and in an uncapped year, other teams might be more willing to let him sign. None of those options actually cost us much.

Would love Davis back. Of course, he fits best (and has become a bit of a star in) the scheme he has now. Going to some super-aggressive scheme might not fit him, and some 3-4 coach coming in will probably not see fit to spend $7 mil a year on a contain guy when he has three thumpers and needs three defensive linemen.

If we did move to a 3-4 I would think he would play well at Mike. Really Davis is good enough to play any LB spot.

Next year is (possibly) uncapped, we will have no problem resigning Davis as long as he wants to be here I think.
