Everybody is poo pooing the Browns but I'm impressed with what they're doing right now. That team is a QB away from being a serious contender.

They were near dead last in every meaningful statistical category last year and just let a quality player walk to save a shade over $2M when they just drafted a raw as fug player to replace him. Njoku has a lot of talent, but even his staunchest supporters will admit that he's very raw and counting on him as a day one starter is likely overly optimistic.

Journeyman player has one great year for the Browns and Fantasy Football players everywhere.  Follows up with a mediocre season and gets cut.  Entire Huddle wants him.

Wait, that was Payton Hillis.  Barnidge's situation is TOTALLY different...

Dickson is younger anyway, and knows the system.  Don't see Barnidge as that big of an upgrade.

You aren't reading.

Barnidge can block.  Dickson, can't, at all.    In fact, he may have been the BEST blocking TE last year.   And, he can catch decently.   No one thinks he'll be a pro-bowler but he would fit what we're doing perfectly here.

You really cannot compare anyone that makes the pro bowl in cleveland by catching balls to Ed Dickson that has Cam Newton. You can't . You cannot. Nope. No.

Barnidge's mediocre season last year was still better than any season in Dickson's career. Barnidge put up better stats last year than Dickson has in three seasons combined in Carolina.

Barnidge would be an immediate and significant upgrade to Dickson.

I've just seen this story before.  I don't think Barnidge will ever have another season like that one, and he's going to cost way more than he's worth.  Would rather get a good TE in the draft instead.

He can block, really well, maybe the best over last few years.  Greg has been having to block.   Now he won't have to.   Less wear on Greg, more time for Greg to be downfield.

Even if Barnidge has 400 yards, he's worth it.    The blocking is worth it.   Having another TE that can catch if Greg goes down, is worth it.    I doubt he wants a ton of money.

    • The problem with drafting a DE/EDGE high in the 1st is the bust factor.  That position group busts at a scary rate.  We HAVE to hit our first 3 rounds.  Cant take chances on tweeners or potential guys.
    • Man folks right on this site said Deion was gonna follow his son to the nfl and have a big impact on his draft stock with his interference and yet we have seen no such thing. He just signed an extension to stay in Colorado for the foreseeable future. The only thing we have seen is so called experts try to tank shedeurs stock with false accusations and rumors and deion just had to step in and shut it down. This why you have to stop listening to what certain people say. Too much hate and emotion in most opinions.
    • That's sound logic! I think we could make a case for a few players. I know its not popular  with a few but Warren gives to the  identity we want. Tremble is mostly a blocker. Sanders flashed late but mostly a receiving  threat at the moment. Warren is an automatic 1st down, run blocks, runs the ball and can even line up and throw it. To me he is if you took the Taysom Hill and actually could play tight end too. I just think looking at Goedert, Kelce,  Laporta, Hoeckenson, Baltimore Tight ends, Knox and Kindcaid and etc... all the  last few teams had stellar Tight end play. Warren allows you to be unpredictable  on offense bc he is equally good at being a target, as he is a blocker. Don't want to run Bryce on a qb sneak, plug Warren in with the threat to pass. I would be happy with him, Walker or a few others. As long as the player isn't riding the bench year 1.
