With all the improvements in 2008, the biggest bust is, y'all know...

top dawg

Johnson has been good Linebacker depth this season.

Hackett hasn't done much of note, other than his big catch in week one against the chargers. I would say hackett has been the bigger dissapointment, however injuries have played a role. As well as being a receiver on a team that features a jake-smitty combo.

The reason Landon Johnson isn't getting his number called much this year?

Simple.

Na'il Diggs.

This guy has stepped it up from last year. He's not Beason or Davis quality, but he's where he needs to be, when he needs to be. He's been playing VERY solid for us this year.

It was speculated that Johnson was going to get the job over Diggs coming into the season. That clearly lit a fire under Diggs' ass and the competition has bred success for Diggs.

DJ doesnt get much playing time, when hes in there he catches the ball. I thought Landon Johnson was a big bust. I was high on him when we first got him, but he hasnt done sh*t.

agree i dont call dj a bust jake does not throw to him that often. and diggs is 30 so he want be around much longer

Beaux Berry summed it up pretty well. Hackett was brought in to compete for the #2 WR position and Moose has been healthy and already had the rapport with Delhomme anyways. As long as Moose was healthy he was going to get that job. With the running game being gangbusters this season there hasn't been the stress on the passing game to move the ball as there has been in years past and that's a blessing. We just haven't had to pass as much thus reduced dependence on the #3. Now if we had a #3 that had rapport and the confidence of Jake then he would get the ball but as it is now he just doesn't have the confidence in our #3 whoever it may be each week.

It hasn't really hurt us yet and focus on the 11-3 record what we're doing is working. Right now Jake would rather throw to the TE or Hoover than the #3 and that's because he hasn't gotten to consistently work with Hackett or Jarrett this year.

Hackett will probably end up being the #2 reciever next year. Moose will more than likely retire...and if he doesn't I'd be suprised. He'll be 36 next year...and there aren't a lot of 36 year old's starting at WR outside of Joey Galloway...who has suspiciously dissapeared. Hackett will be around next TC and will probably get first team reps, unless Jarrett steps up his game another notch. Maybe not this year, but we'll definently appreciate having him around next year, so I reserve the right to call him a bust just yet.

Landon Johnson...$10 mil contract? WTF get him off the team.

Hackett was also brought in as insurance for Jarrett (which we didn't have with Colbert and Carter). I expect Hackett to be gone next year. And Jarrett to be the # 3 guy next year.
