I liked how Shula and Rivera said he was a great fit for what we want to do. Either he fits with what we already do or will fit with what we are going to do. So stop with all the we don't know how to use him or he doesn't fit our system. Your head coach, GM and OC says he fits great and know exactly how to use him

I have stated numerous time how he will effective with the Panthers 2 back system especially with weak WR corp.

He hates Carolina...little Frodo looking fugger

Reading that plus watching the press conference just solidies how much character means to our organization. I don't know how they feel about Robinson and Cook but I guarantee character is a the deciding factor of whether we take either of them.

Nah he's consistent with his hate of RB's early first or all together. He slammed Dallas taking Elliot last draft. Lol

I am really curious to where Hooker was on our big board- I never saw anything linking him to us.

Hooker is really interesting to me. I think his medical must have been awful because even the Saints- who desperately need talent, passed on him.

Also those clips of him missing tackles were worse than I thought.

Still I would have taken Hooker in a heartbeat and not looked back. I think he's going to be special.

yeah i think for them it came down to hooker or lattimore after the chiefs traded in front of them. Good to hear the hamstrings were the reason we passed on lattimore, that eases my mind a lot, had to be serious for us to pass imo. Hooker could be one of those picks wish they didn't pass on or, glad they did, idk what the story is with him

BTW, still trying to wrap my head around using the 5th overall pick on Corey Davis.

I'm actually a huge Corey Davis fan but I feel like they could have gotten him at 18 and taken OJ at 5.

Funny thing is the opposite could have happened.

Maybe the narrative excluded some details, but why did they not entertain the idea of a trade?  They had 2 players in their scope-  They must have fallen in love with McCaffery.  That is why we trade up and not back---we project who we like and target them.  Is that not evidenced here?  They called Tennessee's pick a wild card  etc. I think this tells us a lot about their approach--they pick players before the draft--and shop for them in each round, it seems.

But to not consider a trade?  What if they were going to give us a second to drop 2 spots?  McCaffrey would have probably still been there (only  2 RBs in round 1 were taken) and we could have added a good player in the second. This is a business meeting--we should entertain offers.

This was interesting.  There is a lot to be learned about our war room strategy.

I think you're making an assumption based on a write up. I am fairly confident we at least listened to the offer, and as others have said-it was probably a team coming after McCaffrey considering we had been linked to him throughout this entire process for the most part.

I wonder who called to trade....its a shame we will never know.

Actually, I think was mentioned last night.  Quite sure I saw a number of tweets that mentioned the Broncos wanting our pick.  But not sure if they were the only team calling.

What an EXCELLENT article.  Loved reading this.

I stated that was a possibility, so that must be the case---i would really be interested to know what the offer was.

Here is a big surprise...Pete Prisco's grades. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/drafttracker

Read some analysis today re: how well known analysts did last night in terms of the accuracy of their mocks.  If I recall correctly, Prisco correctly only nailed two teams picks last night.  So, a bad grade from his is a good grade

    • If he's draftable we better take him
    • The problem with Tmac im almost certain he will go top 5 and I can't see either Jacksonville or New England passing him up.   I think in a perfect world we draft either Tmac or Hunter, but they interviewed Prime on Speak today and he said he will have a say in where Sanders and Hunter play. So I'm not even sure if Hunter is a option now lol.
