And the word is, according to the Philadelphia Daily News, that the team is going to release its fourth-string quarterback, Jeff Garcia, this week.

Garcia was released last week, but it says the news about Vick was released 12 hours ago.

EDIT: My bad, Garcia was released Tues. My days are all screwed up from traveling to that GOD AWFUL Dallas game.

Somebody isn't checking their story before running it to print it appears. I don't see an exact date for this link, but they do talk about Kolb running the offense for the last 2 weeks.

Although having him lineup with Steve Deangelo and Stewart back there could be better than the offense that we presently have. He could at least chuck it up to a wide open Steve Smith right??

I don't see Reid getting rid of his new toy this early.......he hasn't had time to play with it enough yet. Although in the off season I can definitely see it happening, which would make his signing by the Eagles a great move (so long as it doesn't ruin this season in anyway).

The Yahoo item was posted Tuesday at 8:30am. Garcia was released about five hours later that day.

I can, under certain conditions.

If, say, Donovan McNabb has been continuing to say in private what he previously said in public (i.e. "Coach, this just isn't working") that, coupled with the fact that Kevin Kolb has looked pretty good could lead to it happening.

Garcia's being released, however, makes it less likely. But who knows? Reid could tell Garcia "Stay by your phone, and if we can get something in trade for Vick, we'll pick you back up".

In the end, I don't think it'll happen. For one, his on-field product to date has been nothing special. And I don't know that anyone needs him badly enough to actually give up something the Eagles would want in return.

But again, you never know.

Yeah I don't see it either trading him this early.

There is nothing Vick is going to be able to bring to another team mid season, he has little value at this point in time.

The longer he stays with the eagles and shows he can still play the game the more the Eagles can rape another team for him in the off season.

& I still don't think McNabb is turned off by the Vick experience as the media makes it out to be
