I'm so glad all of these sports personalities and keyboard GMs know more than Gettleman does!  Makes me sleep better at night!

Y'all know the research they did on CMC?  It wasn't a few youtube high lights.  It was every single game tape for the last two years PLUS all his practice footage...  If nothing else, this was an intensely well researched pick.  You don't draft a guy in the top 10 who you don't feel is a game changing player.

Not to pick on you but people keep harping on how much research we did. Isn't that kind of expected?

We have the most creative running game in the NFL. Pretty much every NFL analysts who talks about our running game says this. Just because it didn't work that well last season doesn't mean they weren't creative.

Hope you are right. I felt the offense has been very similar since Chud left. I feel like it is very predictable and the only reason we had success before is bc we have Cam Newton who did it all running and passing. Now we need to adjust since Cam supposedly won't be running as much so this year is the make or break year for Shula and company!

people are hyping him like he's going to come out the gate playing like david johnson, or percy harvin without the migraines. People need to temper there expectations imo. it's not the pick i'm worried about it's the players we skipped on that were also available.

I think any top pick should be ready to play and impact immediately. If they aren't they are a later round pick.

I don't doubt that most teams do research on their guys, but how many look at all their game tapes and their practice footage, AND have their former coach on staff?

That's what I mean regarding their depth of understand regarding CMC and how he can fit our game plans for the 2017 year and beyond.

Yeah, I love the show. I kinda figured they'd hate the pick.

Many people just don't see the evolution coming. Though skeptical---because it's difficult to teach a dog new tricks---I am optimistic that it will happen, and McCaffrey is the first shot.

Golic is a MORON!!

McCaffrey proved he was great at every single thing he was asked to do in college..haha..Pathetic that he would even suggest something so asinine..Greeny and Booger obviously think you aren't allowed to tweak schemes to fit your personel..smh

Kid set a NCAA record for all-purpose yards in a season in 2015, i.e. he gathered more total yards from scrimmage and kick returns than any major division collegiate player in history.

That record had been held since 1988 by a guy named Barry Sanders with a total of 3250 yards.

McCaffrey blew that away with a total of 3864 yards in 2015.

I agree they did their research and I have faith in our front office so I will ride with the pick. But isn't this part of sports fandom? We have players we want. We don't get them. Get mad. Then after the first run/catch/return all will be forgotten.

The message board would be kind of dull if everyone agreed 100% with every move we made

I would assume all of them and all of them and they talk to any coach they can. I would look at high school tapes and pop warner home video footage. I don't buy that we out-researched everyone else although that would be cool.

I agree G-Man thinks he fits and that is good enough for me for now.

I haven't given very ringing endorsements of McCaffrey since the beginning, but he made his way from the 40's at one point to #10 on my big board before last night. I think he started mid-20's, fell to the 40's after my initial impressions (and because I was high on other guys) but then ended up back near the top.

The more film you watch of him, the more impressive he is.

My only remaining fear of the pick is Shula, and that isn't something CMC can control.

In other words, if he doesn't do good things for us, then it will be because of Shula.
