This is a deep draft at TE.  Probably can get a decent one even at our 3rd pick.  The Leggett type guys should be there in the 3rd.

TE's remaining on the board:

Bucky Hodges, Va Tech

Jake Butt, Michigan

Adam Shaheen, Ashland (small school prospect with a huge frame at 6-6/278)

Jordan Leggett, Clemson

Jeremy Sprinkle, Arkansas

Jonnu Smith, Fla International

Lol this is called evolving folks. Some of you may not like how it feels at first, but it's how you keep winning and competing. By adjusting schemes and bringing flexibility and versatility to the table.

We will not be the power run team anymore. We will be a balanced attack and Cam will be a pocket QB. And we will always have a top defense. Now, we also just improved our special teams too.

Let's be real. This is what a lot of fans have said. CMC is not a bad pick and is an amazing talent BUT it really does come down to the Panthers opening up their offense. If the do then it is a fantastic pick. If not, then it is a bad pick. Unfortunately it really is that simple.

This will go down as the worst fuging pick in the entire draft. Over reached by a full round on an over hyped player.

I hear over hype from many. Can you define over hype and give me a comparison to a rb who ISNT getting hype?

The coaches have already said that they are going to use CMC pretty much like they did at Stanford. The idea that Shula can't design some creative plays and use a versatile player is bogus. He had never run a zone read before he coached Cam Newton either.

Not to make this a Shula bashing thread, but what type of creative plays has he drawn up? Now, the main reason I am optimistic is hiring the Stanford coach as our WR coach. I think he will be our biggest asset to using CMC to his fullest.

Once again I am not saying Shula can't do it. The same excuses I give Cam (No Weapons), I must give Shula the same excuse or that would be extremely hypocritical of me. I hope this is the start of a new Panther offense!

We have the most creative running game in the NFL. Pretty much every NFL analysts who talks about our running game says this. Just because it didn't work that well last season doesn't mean they weren't creative.

Mike Greenberg- pick doesn't make sense, they don't throw to their running backs

Mike Golic- not sold on the kid, had a great Combine but he's not great at anything.

Booger McFarland- Shula will have to figure out a way to utilize the kid so Cam doesn't keep getting beat up

That last one has me concerned

I have the same concerns. Hopefully blitzers won't have the kid on skates.

    • What are the matchups, stats and superlatives?   I think this will be a hard game. Bucs are a very balanced team on offense:  7th  in total yards per game, 7th in passing, 10th in rushing. Baker is having another career year even better than last year but despite missing his Godwin and Evans. Bucs defense is poor (29th) particularly passing defense, but we’re also depleted in our receiving with Coker and Sanders likely out. Running Chuba is key but their defense is better against the run. (16th) I think this is likely going to require us to score a lot of points to keep up and hopefully the home field advantage tips the scale in our favor. My other concern is our run defense and being able to stop their rookie study Bucky Irving who the Bucs have shifted more carries to recently and he’s averaging 5.4 ypc and knows how to get into the endzone with 5 TDs so far.
    • This is nonsense and you know it. People will be happy when we are consistently and convincingly winning games against good teams. There are people in here talking down to others after losses and barely beating the terrible NY Giants. If you want to strut around here like only you are a real Panthers fan and rage pooing posts because your jimmies are rustled then hey good luck with all that. I hope you have a lovely Thanksgiving.
    • Who had the massive meltdown last year? Hope they feel better this year.
