1. Even if he was, a Sproles would be huge for our offense.

2. I might be ignorant on this but I don't think Sproles plays the slot. Even if he does he's not nearly as good at catching and route rouning as CMC is.

i've made many gripes about the position but i'd rather have picked him than fournette and it's for the same reason a lot of people wanted fournette over him. he's not purely a downhill runner. he's got more ability to make plays in space which is what good teams do. in fournette's case, he's really really good at running north/south, but isn't superior to McM in any other way. you put 8 in the box and your 4th overall pick isn't going anywhere.

I heard the same thing about the Keek pick.  We all don't know shat about player evaluation beside what we see on any gIven Saturday or on Youtube with these college players. Chill out and let the GM do his job.

This reaction reminds so much of the reaction to the Kuechly pick, among other things there's almost an element of reverse racism here LOL. 

McCaffrey doesn't look the like the RB's we've seen have success in the NFL, so he can't be good. We have his college position coach on our staff... but we must not know what we're getting ourselves into with this kid, right?

I really like what Mac brings to the table, but I have to say I'm not thrilled with the pick. We've picked a receiving back as one of the offenses in the NFL that had the fewest passes to their backs. Shula isn't going to totally rebuild his offense around Mac instead of Cam. One of Cam's weaknesses is he's not good in the short passing game. Also, backs typically have the shortest careers in the league. I think if you've got that top 10 pick, you need to get an elite talent guy you can expect to be able to play for you the next 10 years. Just my $.02 from my armchair GM spot. 

It seems to me like we drafted a guy who can be a real difference maker, just not for us in the way we would hope. I hope we didn't just draft a square peg and expect him fit in a round hole.

It amazes me how CMC is being spoken of using terms like elite, best 'blank' on our team and guaranteed success, yet the kid hasnt even played a damn down in the league. However, when Mr. #1 overall was selected...this place turned into fuging Rosewood Florida. All of a sudden, we all should be in agreement, that this kid is a stone lock to perform exactly as he was able to in college or be labled ignorant or a hater. Funny that. Guess CMC is going to 'make the Panthers great again'.
For the record, I hope he balls out, but some of you are pathetic.

Eh I was on the frontlines for Cam but deciding the future of the franchise with the #1 pick is not comparable to this at all. And we certainly didn't roll out the red carpet for Luke.
