Trading up in round 2

Some of the boards seem to be saying that Seattle is targeting Robinson. That makes sense. We all know how bad their O-Line is. But with the current Sherman situation and the Earl Thomas injury they could be looking at CB or S.

I think we're going to select a RT, WR, or DB. I wouldn't be upset with any of those picks. I just don't want to see a LB or DT picked in the 2nd round.

If GB doesn't want to play the trade game for their pick, talk with Seattle.  See how much they love Robinson, or would they love one of the better safeties remaining on the board at #40 plus an extra 3rd round pick?

P.S. By the way, as I just pointed out above, GB is in dire need of a running back and a lot of people think they take Mixon here.  I don't see GB as a threat to draft Robinson (but you never know).

Not. Going. To. Happen. We signed Kalil, we're not getting Cam Robinson. There's still enough depth for us to pick. Sucks that Dalvin is on the board. Could have had Barnett and traded up for Dalvin. But DE is still solid so is TE.

Just because we got Kalil doesn't  mean we won't draft Cam Robinson. Kalil was brought in to play LT. Our RT position is far from solidified. And, from what I've read from the scouts, many think Robinson skill set is more suited for RT anyway.

If we chose him in the 2nd, we could concentrate on the defense for the remaining picks with the possible exception of the WR position. We'd have (at least on paper) a solid pair of tackles for the next 4-5 seasons.

When will you learn that the panthers do NOT draft red flag character players, EVER

does lamp play ot though he was looked at as a og in the nfl?

trade up for Robinson(if the character issues check out), this puts a hamper further on sea and sures up our o line, putting our faith in oher and kalil is not a smart move, both are prone to injuries and another injury to one of our ot's and it's open season on Cam again.

Kevin King, Obi, or Budda Baker, self explanatory, 29th pass defense needs help

Zay Jones or Godwin, if none of the above are available we improve one of the weakest areas of the team for years, not as pivotal in the second round  with guys like Cooper Kupp that may be avaliable in the later rounds

Te, also not as pivotal but with a deep draft you'd at least want to grab one, again guys like Jake and Leggett my be available at our comp pick

    • The problem with Tmac im almost certain he will go top 5 and I can't see either Jacksonville or New England passing him up.   I think in a perfect world we draft either Tmac or Hunter, but they interviewed Prime on Speak today and he said he will have a say in where Sanders and Hunter play. So I'm not even sure if Hunter is a option now lol.
    • Trading Deontae was 100% the right call, as he's not a #1 either and we weren't going to re-sign him, but we still got an awful return for him (thankfully the Mingo trade made up for it). And yes, we need that smaller shifty WR, but we also need a true outside #1 as neither XL or Coker are that. That's why I think T-Mac is a perfect fit for us in the early 1st round as that outside #1, Coker and XL could both play on the other outside and in the slot, and find a small shifty WR to work from the slot too, with Sanders, Brooks, and now Hubbard with the extension, plus our OL, is an offense that can succeed with a good game manager type of QB and not need a superstar.
    • Put the pipe down. You are what your record says you are. They need talent and a lot of it. Brown is set but he can use upgrades all around him. ARob is fine but a short timer so competition is needed as a hedge against him chasing money next year. They need a bunch of LBs. Jewell is stopgap and Shaq is losing a step. He's the smartest of the group but he can no longer hang with a TE. They are playing harder yes, but it's due to grit and pride more than skill. They are finally getting tired of getting their asses kicked. Unfortunately for them the beatings will continue until moral improves.
