Trading up in round 2

I feel like Gettleman may want two higher quality players tonight rather than 3 lesser quality ones. We have seen him trade up with less ammunition in the seasons past.

Should the Panthers move up to mid round 2 instead of the very end, they could possible land 2 more guys that can help on day 1, as opposed to a project 3rd round player.

What say you? Good chance? If so, who do you like at pick 40 and say 55ish.

Depends who is floating around left on the board. Could see him trade up in the 3rd vs up in the 2nd. 4 players in the top 70-75 would be sweet.

A lot of years, if you said you could get a TE like Leggett with your 4th pick, people woud look at you like your crazy

Theres going to be at Least 2 more QBs between now and 75, along with a handful of RBs and LBs, going to be a stud still even if we move up in the 3rd

I've been going back and forth on this. I think too much needs to be given to take 33 from GB, which would have to be to keep Cam Robinson from Seattle I'd imagine.

35 would be slightly more reasonable to move to, but still just a bit much.

I think we could really be looking at a trade up to 41 right after, depending on which players are there that we could jump the Saints (42) for.

I think we stay put in the early 2nd because so many high grade players at need positions are going to be there. The concept of moving back into the 2nd to double dip a few picks later might be part of the plan if we see a target worth going to get. I just don't see moving up into the 2nd with as much value as there is left right now. Plus, it wouldn't hurt to make all the picks you have instead of burning them to move up with the lack of depth we have at many positions.

There's still 3 really good safety prospects left so I wouldn't move up for Obi. It'd be crazy if we ended up with Cam Robinson and Josh Jones today.

thats the two i just got in my mock this morning. would be awesome.

The second round, imo, is how Hurney lost his job.  Some of the worst picks in team history.   Why is it so hard?

I think we are poised to draft 2 good players in the second round and I agree we will move up at some point--probably using the comp pick (3rd)) to do so--but maybe the Ealy trade (32nd pick overall) and the 4th will get us up another few spots. What talent is there?  CB, S, and DE.

CB: There si a lot of CB talent in the second--this will tell us if we feel confident about Worley.  I like him, but 8 games playing well does not make a resume.

SS Obi is expected to go to the Seahawks who will pick before us--will we trade up k to leapfrog them to grab Obi?  I think we like him.

DE: Walker, Willis, and Bashum (my favorite)) are still on the board, not to mention a few other smaller college prospects.  I think we have no choice but to draft a DE in round 2.

WR: Zoy Jones please?  Still, there is a lot of WR talent in the draft and we could find help in the third.

Your post is well thought it. I don't want you to think I'm disagreeing with you. But, you don't think there's a chance G-Man may be targeting Cam Robinson?

He was considered a 1st round selection at season's end. Now he's still out there at the top of the 2nd round. If we nabbed him he just may be the last piece we need to solidify our OL heading into the 2017 season. He could immediately improve our run blocking and pass blocking which could help Cam revert to his 2015 form.

Double Dip is our annual theme.  Mixon or Cook........    Just kidding

I don't know if it is worth it.  Seems so many are rated about the same in round two.

CBS Sports mocks the second round

40. Bashem, DE Ohio

64 Jones, WR ECU

Either of those two and if we move up maybe Baker.

Yes I do--II would love Cam--so much depends on Oher's situation.  I rhink he goes early in the round--Dalvin Cook, Robinson, Lamp---I would not be surprised to see them as the first 3 picks.

    • If he's draftable we better take him
    • The problem with Tmac im almost certain he will go top 5 and I can't see either Jacksonville or New England passing him up.   I think in a perfect world we draft either Tmac or Hunter, but they interviewed Prime on Speak today and he said he will have a say in where Sanders and Hunter play. So I'm not even sure if Hunter is a option now lol.
