Another player that could sneak into the top 7?

Making it more likely, especially if a QB or multiple QB's go, that we get one of our top targets.

NFL.com draft analyst Lance Zierlein reports it is unlikely Temple LB Haason Reddick "even makes it to pick No. 15."
This matches a report from colleague Daniel Jeremiah, who said Reddick is one of the "hottest names right now" in league circles. Zierlein expects Reddick to come off the board before Alabama LB Reuben Foster, who has both off-field and medical concerns. Rotoworld draft guru Josh Norris believes Reddick could go as high as No. 6 to the Jets. Apr 27 - 11:25 AM

Temple has some good kids this year and Reddick is a stud, definitely worthy of a top 10 pick. Can't predict him being as successful as Luke Kuechly of course but compared to Luke going into the draft he's not that far behind. Would be great if the Jets were to pull the trigger on Reddick.

Possible top 7 players outside of the three we're tareting (Fournette, Adams, Thomas):

Myles Garrett

Marshon Lattimore

Jonathan Allen

Mitch Trubisky

Deshaun Watson

Malik Hooker

OJ Howard

Derek Barnett

Christian McCaffrey

Haason Reddick

Patrick Mahomes

Depends on QBs to a degree, but I think it's actually more likely than not that one of Fournette, Adams and Thomas is there at 8. We get our elite prospect without trading up and no having to settle for tier 2 guy. Really seems certain that one QB goes ahead of us and then all it takes is three of Lattimore, Allen, another QB, Hooker, Howard, Barnett, McC, or Reddick to go ahead of us and it ensures one of our 3 makes it to 8.

Reddick is an athletic Freak listed at only 6'1 237 at the combine.  Too small for Defensive End standards. Does he fit the mold of a 3-4 OLB possibly.  I just can't see a team drafting him and putting his hand in the dirt.  Even the average tackle would be able to toss him.

Don't know how is zone coverage is but possible outside backer for both 4-3 but mainly 3-4 defenses.

The only teams that run a base 3-4 defense in the top 15 are Bears, Jets, and Chargers.

I don't see a team taking Reddick that early when unsure where he fits.

Reddick fits perfectly in a 4-3 defense, at either OLB spot or even inside. Better prospect there than Shaq. He's not a pass rusher. Could play inside in a 3-4 defense.

No, he's not. Shaq was a better tackler and far superior in coverage.

Shaq better in coverage but not even close to a better tackler. And Reddick better at shedding blocks and following the ballcarrier than Shaq was. Reddick is like Luke minus the coverage and with slightly better blitz ability. A leader like Luke, though doesn't quite have Luke's mind for the game. Can easily be the QB of a 4-3 defense, and work to improve his coverage in the NFL.

No, he's not. If Reddick was that good at diagnosing the play and tackling (rated 13th in tackling efficiency amongst LBs) then he'd be a first rounder. Reddick is a decent prospect but Shaq is already considered a top LB in the game as a part time starter. I prefer Vallejo if we're drafting a LB.

Well it's my opinion man.

And he is a guaranteed first rounder, likely top 15, possible top 7.

Note, I'm not comparing him to Shaq now, I'm comparing him to Shaq as a prospect coming out. Shaq's considerably better now than he was his rookie year and than he was coming into the draft, he's outperformed where we took him. And I'd hardly say he's considered a top LB. Maybe top 15 in 4-3 OLB's if that falls under your meaning of "top LB."

And not thinking at all that we look at Reddick unless he was sitting that at 40 (impossible). The thread is about him going ahead of us, not us taking him.

don't necessarily agree with you here in the comparison to Shaq. Is that evaluation based purely on measurements?

Shaq played a hybrid LB/S position on College.  Covered pass catches, rushed the passer, etc. Haason has strictly been playing with his hand in the dirt at Temple.  Probably not as smooth of a transition.  Not saying he couldn't definitely has the athleticism to do that.

guess we will see.

Not comparing him to Shaq. Comparing how each would transition to 4-3 OLB from what they were asked to do in college. We took Shaq at 25 to play 4-3 LB. I think Reddick transitions there even better and therefore will go higher.
