I agree with the OP. cook is the better pure runningback if thats what you are looking for. And his pass catching ability might be second or 3rd in this class. That said I dont hate McCaffery. there a lot of value he brings that the others don't.... Character being the main one that gettleman loves...Cooks character and combine destroying his draft stock.

CMC top speed was 20mph, Cook's top speed was 23mph, but Mccaffrey did run faster at the underwear Olympics, he was also the second weakest RB at the combine putting up a laughable 10 reps at the bench.

 

CMC had more catches last season yet Cook had more receiving yards and a higher yards per reception.

 

Cook played in the best conference in college football behind a line not known for great run blocking. CMC played behind the the machine known as the Stanford O-line which made Gaffney, Gerhart and Taylor look like all Americans. While going against the second worst defensive conference of the Big 5.

 

If we draft Mccaffrey over Cook we will regret it, put your house on that.

If we pick MCM will you quit the Huddle?

McCaffrey was runner up for the Heisman a full year before the combine. So stop with the underwear olympics thing.

I know they have McCaffrey listed at 202 lbs, but his build looks smaller than that. I'm not knocking his talent. I just don't think he can take the pounding as a every down back in the NFL. To me he looks more like a scat back like Reggie Bush. Idk maybe we will use him as a slot receiver and a punt returner.

I still have it fournette, cook, cmc.....cooks main issue are character wise, which he may have turned the corner on, time will tell. CmC is getting a lot of hype recently.

This is my main concern about McCaffrey. Can he take an NFL pounding at that weight.  Sure he can add more muscle and weight, but by doing that would he erase the things that made him effective in college.

Cook is the better featured back. But if we draft Christian McCaffrey I'm on the CMC train hope we utilize him well.

Fsu chose to utilize him in that way as Stanford selected to use him as a RB/Slot and if I had time & I wasn't about to doze off I would send you A clip or 10 of Punt returns & catches at WR also but don't have the energy to do so. Lets just Hope that tomorrow we draft him or don't draft him at #8
