Wow, hats off to Tim Gleason! What a beast!

Yeah, goals off of turnovers kill Carolina yet again. You can't give Semin, Ovechkin and Co. extra chances and expect to win.

That being said, it is a nice surprise to see the Carolina River Rats do so well against the second best team in the East. Tlusty scores on his first shift as a Cane... wow. And again, Gleason... wow, what a game.

There should be something in their contracts that say if you are that much of a beast to come back with a massive gash you get a bonus. Hockey players are men.

Too bad we lost to Ottawa though.. couldn't get any breaks. A late PP goal off of Jay Harrison's skate right after a goal line "save" by Brian Elliot (really Jason Spezza), and then Joni takes a shitty holding call.

I like Joni but jesus he does dumb things and the wrong times.

.... and yes Gleason is beyond human.

All I'm thinking is, should I order my black Gleason jersey with an A on it? Or should I just wait until next year? Because let's face it, if he's not the next A after Whitney and Brind'Amour are likely gone and Staal getting the C... I don't know what to think.

That was a joke... half the roster that night were call-ups.

Yeah, I really thought we had a great chance again tonight. It seems like Carolina gets a lot of chances, but for some reason they miss the opportunities. And all the good bounces go to the opposing team (like the deflection off of Harrison's skate OR the puck that went in off Legace's leg... it could only happen to us).

We've had some bad bounces but the majority of it comes down to execution. The effort is there, and the team is playing hard and hasn't given up. But, they stink out loud. The oldest team in the league is going through confidence issues. They've all reached the sh*t part of their careers at the same time.

It's like the planets aligning, and its awful to watch. But, the team is still trying and there's a lot to look forward to next season... as we approach the trade deadline (or at this rate as people keep dropping like flies) we'll get more and more of a preview of next season's young, fresh squad.

Sutter is already up and Boychuck has gotten some time. Tlusty looks good so far, but I can't wait until we get to see Jerome Sampson and Drayson Bowman. Really excited about those guys.

Also, we have a #1 pick coming up (Lets face it #2 at worst).. so we will get an NHL ready youngin' to likes of Steven Stamkos, or John Tavares.

I'm pretty optimistic about this team having a quick turnaround and being a contender next season.

And murq, I'm sorry I jinxed the sh*t outta your Jackets. They are just not putting it together lately. WTF, Preds are chasing the Hawks for the Central? The world is truly ending. This is supposed to be Columbus' year. Detroit is pedestrian, wtf.

Which one has the better shot? I don't care if he's somewhat a defensive liability. Staal is borderline useless without a good winger.

We need somebody who can light the lamp. Sergei Samsonov is the closest we have to that right now, so I think that says enough by itself.
