Lol, are people really making this political?  Unreal.

I think it's pretty simple...  they made their product more about arguing, blabbering, opinions, and personalities rather than actual NEWS.  With the rise of social media "reporting" and the overall evolution of sports media, they quickly realized their idea of where the industry was going was seriously flawed.  They overplayed their hand and now we're seeing the aftermath.

from what i'm seeing on Twitter most are making it political. conservative twitter is basically saying the firings are because of the backlash ESPN is facing from turning their network liberal in their words and people are not having it anymore. lol

It's not because of that.  It is because they paid a ton of money for rights fees and now cord cutters and cord nevers are cutting into their bottom line.  If this was about liberal politics why didn't they lay off any talking head?  Most of the people laid off are reporters and journalist.

Considering none of the super over-opinionated left leaning talents were let go, I'd say there isn't much basis to any of that.

Did they please lay off   DAN Le BATARD  ?   and what ever a stugoz  is  ??  PLEASE

If they would just get back to reporting  news/ highlights  on SportsCenter,,  you could get rid of half their "anchors"  sheesh/

Again Dan is another one carrying ESPN right now, he's beyond safe.

It's what happens when you're more concerned about pushing the liberal agenda than reporting on real sports with real reporters. ESPN is a waste these days.

Can you give examples of this? Most of the shows I watch tend to fall over themselves to be a-political.

One of the best shows on ESPN. If you are tuning in to that show expecting highlights then you didn't read the fine print. LeBetard routinely reminds us all that he is there to talk about whatever. I mean they have a zookeeper on weekly. Or Pauly Shore or some random crap.

Zookeeper from Miami every Tuesday. I'm a loyal listener. Dan could get laid off today and work anywhere he wants tomorrow. ESPN ain't getting rid of his Dad, everyone loves Papi. Outside of Stephen A, and mike and mike, Dan might be the safest.
