I was joking about the penalty. To your point, guarantees mean hardly anything in this process. I'm sure they happen all the time and are broken on draft day. Teams have no reasons not to give these guarantees if they think it will help with player loyalty in the long run. May already be thinking 5 years down the road: 'do you remember on draft day when you were falling but we believed in you? How about some hometown loyalty?'. All-in-all, even if this guarantee actually happened, a lot could change between now and tomorrow night.

I'm glad this draft is becoming clearer. The panthers are trading up to 2 then trading back to 12 and drafting 10 players in the first round. Anything less and I'm going to start believing all these draft guys are full of bs and really don't have any sources
