AP To Saints

A lot of you all are being delusional, or are just in outright denial.  We've been successful against AP in yhe past because there was really no threat of a passing game in playing him.  His QBs have been garbage.  Pairing him with Brees is scary...  we can't load the box to stop him, and we can't spread too thin to prevent big passes or he'll gash us.  Just as AP has never had the benefit of a great QB, Brees has never had the benefit of a gamebreaking RB.

Any way you spin this, it isn't great news for the Panthers.

Yes, but it's not really bad news either. Why should we be worried about a player we continuously shut down in his prime, now that he's over the hill? Aints could've used that money on defensive help. Peterson is basically the same as Ingram at this point. Upgrade at their #2 back over Hightower, but hardly a big signing that'll hurt us. Not good for us, but not bad either.

I think its great news.  The saints are going to game plan around their new RB and its going to backfire miserably.

I don't see that happening. Ingram should remain the starter and be the primary pass catching RB (not AD's thing). At his age,  AD will most likely compliment him as Hightower did and get his 12 or so touches a game.

Regardless, good move by the Saints at that price and a nice 1-2 combination to have.

This fuels the fire even more for us to improve so gettleman better decide what to improve first defense or offense

Yeah I'm sure the Saints signing an over the hill RB has sent Gettleman into a downward spiral of scotch and Hot Fries to try and figure out how to account for this signing.
