There's little doubt he's missed on the field, but then I'm sure Terrell Owens is missed on-field in Dallas too.

No, I don't think Jenkins is as big a cancer as Owens, but enough people talked about "addition by subtraction" after his departure to make it clear that he wasn't the most popular guy around.

(guys who promote themselves while downing others generally aren't)

I have zero problem with the team shipping him off.

Failure to adequately replace him, that's another issue.

Jenkins was speaking the truth. He wanted out of Charlotte when he realized nothing was going to change and the franchise was not going to tolerate what he was saying. The difference for me back then is I wanted the Panthers to keep him and get rid of Peppers.

Not finding an actual replacement for K. Jenkins is a very big reason the Panthers are in the horrible defensive position they are right now. They have had 2-offseasons too. You don't replace K. Jenkins with D. Lewis, Corey Irvin, Nick Hayden, and the several others that have come & gone. At least when Buckner 'left', they found a replacement with Kemo. At least when Rucker retired, they tried by getting Brayton & drafting Johnson in the 3rd...neither are Rucker but they are better replacements to Rucker than the others are for Jenkins.

Are you sure it was scared or was it apathy? You know, how you tune out people who always scream and yell and act a fool (or how we tune out a nagging spouse)?

Short-term loss, long-term gain.

Guy didn't want to be here anymore, there weren't enough strip joints in Charlotte for him. The final straw was when he started to be a problem in the locker room, if Peppers really wanted to be traded he should have follow the Jenkins formula and he would have been out of here by now.
