Rumor: Christian McCaffrey Doesn't Get Past Carolina

Interesting random fact taken from 49ers page discussing this:

If you want to buy into this, there is an offshore bookmaker who is happy to take your money for a wager. Bookmaker.eu is offering OVER/UNDER numbers on when players will be drafted. McCaffrey is listed at 8.5. It is my understanding that OVER means he is drafted after pick 8, and UNDER means he is drafted before pick 9. The UNDER is slightly favored, which suggests oddsmakers have been hearing the same thing.

At this point I'm so confused by rumours I would struggle to take that bet...

Not sure if this has been posted anywhere but there's this....

I had no idea how truly quick/ elusive he was. Talk about evolving the offense with one pick. Playmaker, return man, WR, RB...imagine him taking a read option hand off or setting up a screen to him.

He's a weapon with incredible speed/elusiveness. Quicker strides than Ross, more explosive than Antonio Brown, and makes moves literally faster than a human brain can react.

What about a trade down scenario where we pick up another 2nd and still get him? And then take WR, DE and TE in the 2nd?

Well I don't quite understand how all that stuff works as I'm new to this whole football thing but as long as we end up with Christian I'm excited about and still have hope for this season

been watching some vids on him.  I just dont see it.  Majority of his yards come from a stutter step that apparently college defenses are prone to fall for.  I just dont see this transitioning to the NFL.  Especially as a 3 down back.  It may work the first year but once players and defenses get a feel for his moves, they will shut it down.  He doesn't seem to have ideal power to be a grind it out push the line type back.  Hes more of a scat back.  I see him as a complimentary back, not a 3 down back.

Well then I'm glad the Panthers organization has scouts, a former coach of CMc, and a GM who like the kid.

He could be the Luke to our offense. He is a great route runner. I think people are missing that he wont just be a running back. And I am not worried about powering through the line. Go get any old power back to do that.

Also, I think his "moves" are not necessarily scoutable as he seems to run on instincts. So, you scout him and 80% of the time he jukes right when on the left side. How do you actually counter that on the field? Especially when he is making the move faster than your brain can react to it.

I just think if he were going to be a bust, there would be more true scouts and analysts calling attention to that. So many true professional scouts and analysts and GMs are saying he is a matchup nightmare, and aren't worried about it.

I say take him at 8 if he's the best guy on your board.
