Thanks for the response. Outside of @killerkat, I don't know of any others who value Corey Davis as much as me. Where do you have him ranked?

He's my #1 WR of this class. Only issue is, he's like the Michael Crabtree of this class; top talent, but not that flashy.

Davis compares to Hakeem Nicks and Anquan Boldin with his style of physical play, and he's alright. Just not a transcendental WR.

If I thought I was getting Anquan Boldin in Corey Davis, I'd take him at #8 with zero hesitation and I think the Panthers would too. Not only was Boldin a very good receiver (7 1000 yard seasons, 82 career TDs), but he was consistently one of the best blocking WRs in the NFL and that's something that the Panthers value quite a bit, probably more than most teams.

Fair point.

I'm not too sure how good Davis' blocking is, but he sure is a physical possession type receiver that'll make the good plays.

His blocking is average IMO. His drops are mildly concerning but not enough to pass.

I think you're selling him short by calling him a possesion receiver. 52 TD's and 52oo yards in nothing to sneeze at. Yes it was against poor competiton mostly ( did have 13 receptions for 135 yards and a TD between his 2 games against Wisconsin and Ohio State with a QB who should never have to face that level of competition).

Davis has the upside to be a true top tier #1 wideout talent in this league. But he's raw and played against weak competition in college, and has some injury concerns along with Ross. Davis compares more to a very raw Julio Jones to me than a Nicks or Boldin. He's not a possession guy like either of those two. Doesn't quite have the speed of Julio but his game speed is closer to his than Boldin's or Nicks'. I like him and he's the top wideout this year but we aren't in the range to take him this year.

1. Garrett
2. Fournette
3. Thomas
4. Adams
5. Hooker (though I've seen no interest that the Panthers are interested, I actually like him more than Adams but I have him below Adams simply because I'm 100% certain that the Panthers do)
6. McCaffrey (though honestly if those previous five are gone, my preference would be to field calls about a potential trade down)

I think that is pretty close to probably how they have it.
