Want Badly at 40

Our WRs are in poor shape, need more than just a slot (which we can still get later with a Henderson or Switzer etc)

Fast and still big hands Catcher is the best compliment we've had for KB.  Remeber how people loved how Lafail could block well (about the only thing he could do) like Moose.  Here's a little secret.............Godwin is a damn good blocker to.

I've been watching some of his highlights and I have come up with these tidbits.

-Sure handed. The guy goes up and plucks balls out of the air if needed. That's a huge + because of Cam and his accuracy issues.

-He uses his body to shield the pass trajectory. Several of his catches he used his big body to fend of the defender while he put his hands to work, I would be willing to be he played some basketball as well.

-Play speed is slow. I know he ran a 4.31 40 yard dash, but his play speed looks slow. A lot of these highlights you see huge gains but there's always someone catching up to him and eventually tackling him. In the NFL that will be happening but quicker or maybe he won't have as much separation as he did in college so that does worry me a bit.

- Route running is actually not bad. I saw several double moves and against some of this years top CB's. Adoree Jackson was one. He made him stumble. That's one way to create separation in the next level.

All in all he'd be a great addition to this team, he could learn some more tricks, like using his hands to stun defenders, his footwork needs  a little more improvement. Route running is above average and he could perfect it some more in the next level. Landing him in the 2nd round would make this team so much better.

If I had to choose between Desean Jackson and Dez I'm picking Jackson 10/10 times. Its not about whose the best, its about whose the best fit that can compliment this offense and our other receivers.

Cam has one of the best deep balls in the NFL we need to take advantage of that by drafting a bonafide deep threat. Not Goodwin who for the most part is a possession receiver

Do we really have a possession receiver either?  Outside of Olsen does Cam have that sure handed receiver that he can count on when it is third down?

I would be fine with one from each group:

Jones or Godwin

and

Ross, Henderson, Westbrook, or Taylor

I just don't see us drafting 2 receivers in our first 4 picks.

I'd take Godwin over Jones any day of the week and it's not even close.

What you smoking?

Maybe the same thing most of the so called "experts" are?

I consistently see Jones rated higher than Godwin.  That doesn't guarantee that Jones will be the better pro but to prefer Jones over Godwin isn't a stretch by any means.

Jones is simply better. You're too prone to jumping on the flavor of the week... or day... or hour.

No he isn't.

You'd be hard pressed to find anyone to argue Jones being better than Godwin. That's a fact.

Of course, you seem to love using that "oh luk he flipped his opinion on Barnett and Adams after he watched more film" as your excuse like I don't know what I'm talking about. If you're supposed to be deadset on one prospect for all year, then I guess Solomon Thomas is a second rounder and Jabrill Peppers is a top 10 lock, right?

Most draftniks are finalized in their decisions only a few weeks before draft day.

But yet I provide my own research to back my claims, while you seem to just want to comment just to comment without any credibility or basis at all.

In all honesty, makes you sound like a complete idiot with these troll like comments you seem to adore.

If you're talking about mainstream guys, then seems like Jones is the flavor of the day. I know of Panther analysts, scouts, and other sources that will say Godwin is the better overall product.

Jones is alright, but by no means better than Godwin and his potential.

You drive yourself crazy trying to scour the internet to try to read every "drafting" opinion under the sun. Don't be afraid to actually watch a guy play and try to formulate your own opinion instead of yo-yo'ing all over the place.

The draftniks you use have no qualifications just like you and I. That stuff is for entertainment purposes only. Just look at the history of mock drafts. They're horrendously inaccurate. Using their opinions doesn't give you any additional credibility.

Sorry you got mad, but yeah dude, you waffle around constantly based on whichever direction the wind is blowing at the moment.

Players rarely "shoot up draft boards", it's more like these draftniks actually get some whispers on what real talent evaluators think about these prospects at the combine and pro days.

I already did my own research. Top part of my analysis on Godwin.

Did you not read the article at all? If you did, you wouldn't have spouted off that last sentence.

"It's not about whose the best..."

Goo by, please!

The irony is @GoobyPls's quote:

"Not Goodwin who for the most part is a possession WR."

He had 4.42 speed first of all, so it exists.

And secondly, our biggest argued need all over the board was the necessity for us to pick up a possession WR who is reliable. Far more so than a need for a deep threat.
