Are people really saying McCaffrey is preferred over Fournette now?

I hope they let him drop I'd prefer not to trade up but picks that may or ma not pan out are worth losing over Fournette imo

You're under selling Stewart and I believe you're mistaking him with Tolbert. You still have Stewart and Cam. You're also underestimating McCaffrey since in Stanford he was their power back and got plenty of 3rd and 1s. 

 

The sheer absence of knowledge about McCaffrey is not surprising. I don't think any of you that are against the man have seen him play or know what type of offense Stanford runs. 

 

Oh and to the other guy that quoted me, study up on Stanford and what type of scheme they run there..

 

Everyone is undervalueing the special teams aspect of his game. This game is about yards and placement the closer they are to the endzone the better. 

 

I am not going to be against the Fournette pick if he falls,  I feel that McCaffrey has a lot more to offer than Fournette as far as playability and versatility.  Fournette is essentially a one trick pony.

No I'm not mistaking Stewart for Tolbert nor am I underselling Stewart in fact I'm selling how much of a beast Stewart is

You must not watch games. Stewart regularly turns what would be a negative yardage play or no gain by most RB's into positive yardage. Stewart gets something out of nothing. McCaffrey won't take neg. plays and turn them into slight gains. Tolbert? Tolbert hasn't been good since 2014

   I quoted you. I watched every snap of McCaffrey on draft breakdown. I know exactly who he is. Now dispute what I said. Should we spend a top ten pick on a slot WR and upgrade over Fozzy. If you want to stick Fournette with "one-trick pony" label, then McCaffrey is a limited WR(slot only) and RB( nobody is giving him 15+ carries in the NFL) I could just as easily say your absence of knowledge on Fournette is typical. 

 See how that works. And if you want to respond to my post, quote it and respond. Don't hide it in another response with a lazy " watch him play" cop out.

What C-Mac did at Stanford is great, but Stanford is hardly LSU on several levels, and it's not the pros.

Fournette is bigger, stronger, and just as fast. He fits our bread and butter to a tee. Sure, C-Mac has the edge on versatility, being a return man, but that's not the determining factor when deciding to invest in a running back for years to come in an unabashedly power based running game. He's a "receiver," you say. Sure he is, but don't let the fact that Fournette wasn't asked to catch confuse you. He can catch, by all accounts, including G-man's. Again, C-Mac's only real advantage over Fournette is his skill at returning, but for most that's not enough. You say people are undervaluing the return game. I don't think so, but I know that Gettleman and company are doing no such thing. They are weighing the skills of all the prospects, putting them within the proper context in fitting with what they want to do, and prioritizing them accordingly.

If there is anyone that has knowledge of C-Mac on a collegiate and potential professional level, it's the Panthers. The guy who helped him develop into a pro prospect while at Standford is our coach. Gettleman and company know all they need to know, and they know more than you and me. They have the knowledge!

I don't know what would be worse, trading up to get Fournette or taking McCaffery at 8. Fournette at 8 would be great though.

Don't trade up for a running back.  That's all I came here to say.

Giving up that kind of capitol for an injured player at a position that gets injured often = pretty damn stupid.

I want all the picks this year, and would be happy trading back if possible to grab another 2nd or 3rd.

Can't y'all get it through y'all's heads we will not be able to use CMC like that. Our offense is not made for him. If u want him Rivera should have let Shula go and gotten another OC. He will not be the pick plain and simple!!!

The GM literally said he fit our offense and called him a three down back just yesterday.

Joe Webb can play QB,ST,and WR making him one of the most versatile players in the league.but that doesn't mean that you should bench Cam and start Webb so that Shula can evolve our offense nor does it mean that Webb should've been a top 10 pick in the draft neither
