Otah should play Guard instead of Tackle

bad idea, i can kind of see where you could think that but this line is fine the way it is. they where dominant lat year and should be this year, but i think the problem is we are calling plays that are not best fit for our guy and we are missing on some fundamentals and mental error type of things. but I dont thing we need to make that worse by moving people around.

He's fine on the right side. Our line hasn't played well as a whole, Vincent isn't pulling his weight and pass protection tends to look a lot worse when the opposing team knows you have to pass for a good chunk of yards every down.

Gross did very well against Allen last year until Minny got us into desperation pass mode.

Yeah, Vincent definitely seems to be the weak link this year. If this keeps up, they may have to give Robinson a try.

Otah will get beat from time to time by a good pass rusher, but that's to be expected. He will keep getting better as long as he can stay healthy, which is my only worry with him.

Otah is where he needs to be.....what they need to do is put that ball in the hands of a running back....tell Otah to walk over someone and have the running back follow him. Otah is gonna give up some stuff in pass protection.

If Vincent really is the weak link (I don't know if he is or isn't), then the Panthers really messed up by letting Hangartner go. Yeah, he wanted a lot more money than Vincent but he was worth more. Not only could have been the starting RG, he could be a back up center and back up LG. If money was the issue, the Panthers could/should have found a way to keep him.

Otah is perfect for a right tackle. He is supposed to handle bigger most run stopping left defensive ends so he needs to be big and strong. He has very good quick feet which will help him against faster guys off the edge. He just has to work on his technique and learn to hold better without being obvious like most of the veterans.

As for Vincent, I don't think he has recovered from his injuries of last year and does look much worse this year. He and Kalil are our 2 weak links this year.

And no Otah surely shouldn't play guard.

The biggest surprise to me this season has got to be the poor play of what I considered one of the best Olines in the game. I'm really wondering what in the crap is going on with this team.

It isn't hard to figure out, teams are blitzing through the A gaps up the middle. It disrupts the running plays and the passing plays by collapsing the pocket. What we haven't done is adjust for it. When we do it opens up the middle for big gains. When we don't it ends in sacks and stuffs in the backfield. Better playcalling would make a huge difference and both Jake and Davidson share in the blame at this point.
