Craziest Draft Ever

Recommended Posts

Based on some of the articles I have read over the past couple of days. I have a very strong feeling that a team is going to trade up into the top 5 and pick a QB.   This is going to start a domino effect on the other QBs.

Don't be shocked if Trubisky and Watson are gone before we pick.   This will benefit us greatly as we will have more to choose from.

Thoughts?

Had this discussion with my co-workers who are football guys as well.  This could be one of most unpredictable drafts I can recall.  Usually by this time theirs the clear #1 overall pick starting negotiating contract with the team picking first.  I think Garrett is the first pick but with all he rumors of top teams picking all wanting out of then top 10 or others trying to trade into the top 10. I've recently come to peace with I can't expect any certain scenario this year because no way of knowing what happens with the first seven picks.

It has been a head scratcher for sure. In some ways even more difficult than predicting the 30th pick as weird as that is.

That's a very good way to put it. Normally the top ten is not to bad to predict and the last ten are pretty difficult. This time, they are all difficult.

I have said it for a while  that atleast 2 QBs will be gone in top 10 , this will push talent down for Panthers to move backup again after picking at 8.

Some form of RB/TR or RB/RB combo

Panthers like quality > quantity

I agree with you that QBs will go in the top 10. Not sure many because of trade rooms. However, what usually happens and happened last year. "This is the worst crop of QBs in years" some analysis says and last year I agreed.  What usually happens, team does play off that they will pass on a QB or "oh they aren't that good" amen QBs go way earlier than most expect.

Prediction: atleast 2 QBs go in top 10.

If there is an early run on QBs, might it be worth it to trade down with a qb needing team like Cleveland or Buffalo and still get a player we want?

The only thing about dropping down is expecting that player to be there 4 picks later only to have another team jump up and take him.

I hope we sit pat with our selections and take 4 of the top 100 and be happy.   I am betting we will be excited with our picks.

Christmas in April....
