Sucks to start on the road again but I can't be mad opening the season against the 49ers and Bills.

Yeah, I guess this is the best way to look at this.  I mean 6 out of 7 away openers since 2011.  We got ROBBED last year.,  Should have started at home as NFC Champs...

But, having SF & Bills back to back, does help if we start slow.  Whenever we play it, the Bills game will be interesting to see McD's game plan against us.

This is bullshit.

I'd love to compare our opening and closing on the road vs every other team.  My guess is there's not a close 2nd.

This is bullshit. This fanbase deserves a home opener more than once every 5 years. If you're happy we're opening on the road again against *any* opponent, you're wrong.

If you guys are truly heated about this there's nothing stopping you from travelling to SF and supporting the Panthers

to open and close on the road, every single year,

Well hey, not totally true.  (I know, hyperbole...)

It was AWESOME to close the 2015 reg season at BoA vs Tampa.... The stadium was raucous (all the CamVP chants.)

Basically a playoff atmosphere in terms of the crowd energy...  Great memories.  Just wish my schedule had allowed me to stay in CLT a little longer to also attend the Seattle & AZ playoff games at home.

This is bullshit.

Wonder if this has anything to do with the college football game that is usually played the week prior?  Wonder if it takes some time in the September heat to repair the field.

I'm just speculating but that many road openers almost make it seem like we request them.

It's a huge tactical advantage to stay at home in week 17.  Maybe not HUGE (more hyperbole), but an advantage.  I always harken back to 2005/2006, having to play @Atlanta (week 17), @NYG, and @Chicago before @Seattle while the Seahawks got to stay home for a month.  We had no gas in the tank and were smoked.

Ironically, that was one of the few years we DID start at home, and it was rigged vs New Orleans due to Katrina, ultimately costing the division and a home playoff game.
